If you walking at the town , you can see a beautiful church called St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church.
History recall that the massive Christianization has start in Buhi in 1605 by Fr. Antonio Mendez by baptizing the settlers of Marayag and other small visitas across the Sowong river. In 1680, Fr. Simon de Salamanca built first church of Buhi using semi-permanent material.

But , the early church of Buhi has been destroy several time because of fire and earthquake . The church that we look at the present was build by Rev. Angel Malumbre O.F.M between 1870 and 1884. The roof was destroyed by fire the same year but if was finished repaired in 1889 - 1890

The visit to St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church , give me a glimpse of historical story of Buhi , and how important religions to people of Buhi. This place is so beautiful and peaceful. I really hope i can go back there again , and spend a little time maybe a few days to know this place better.
