During my last photo trip to Corfu in Greece, I've been waking up almost every morning to enjoy and photograph the sunrise.
One may say it is a cliche, but sunrises are so magical and always different.
Also, try to sleep for 3-4 hours one week in a row and then we'll speak again :) There's never time for coffee at that time of the day, 4 AM in the morning, just putting in the camera batteries, grabbing your backpack with photo gear and leaving quickly the comfort of your cozy room.
All the sunrises are much shorter than the sunsets, so you must be sure to be fully prepared to not miss the best moments.
Corfu island in Greece is very photogenic, in my opinion. Especially the area close to the island churches. There is even a spot where one can stand exactly below the airplane track where planes start to land.
For few instants you could even be just under a flying passenger airplane, very close to it, absolutely legally. And even feel the power of the jet engines and sense their noise and vibrations with your skin. For me, that was an indescribable moment.
From my photographic perspective, to be that close to a flying airplane is a great opportunity. One of the evenings there, I was able to create a picture of a local Greek fisherman whos silhouette is shaped by the lights a of huge landing airplane, reflecting in the Adriaaic sea waters.
I know this is a moment that will not repeat and probably I will not see such one again. Ever.
Thank you and happy Steeming :)
