Royal Jamia Mosque Keechi sharif was built in 1707 A.D. This mosque was built by Ghazi Asad Khan special adviser to Mughal King Aurangzeb Alamgir (1618 – 1707). Mosque is situated in a small village keechi sharif, Talagang. After independence of Pakistan this mosque was renovated twice but still the glory of this mosque is intact. On the main entrance they have placed a board on which the history of this mosque is written.
The mosque is very well decorated with floral patterns and is also decorated with different colors. Old decorated work is still visible and is in good condition.
There is beautiful wooden work done in mosque. The wooden doors are very beautifully carved and still they are looking great. The ceiling of mosque is all decorated with wood and very well maintained. Still you can see a little bit detail of decoration work clearly. Even they have still maintained an old wooden pillar in the wall to show the old delicate wooden work.
In mosque a seventeenth century hand written Quran in a glass case is also showcased. This piece of art is very unique.
On the main dome of mosque they used mirrors as decoration which was very unique for me. I observed this when I saw a sparrow seeing his reflection in that mirror.
Very beautiful mosque and we must protect these historical places as such places preserve the history of that region in it.
