Hello dear travelers. Today we visited the amusement park located on Tibidabo Hill, a bit outside of Barcelona. This park is a great option for those looking to have a fun day with family and enjoy various attractions. It is reachable by public transportation from Barcelona in about 40 minutes.

If you’re not too keen on attractions and have 2-3 hours in Barcelona, I still recommend visiting Tibidabo. Here you can see the beautiful Temple of the Sacred Heart. This isn’t the only attraction. If you don’t plan to go into the park, you can walk from the mountain to the city via the cable car and enjoy the fantastic views.

The main purpose of our visit today was to go to the amusement park, named Tibidabo. The park isn’t open every day; you can check the operating days and ticket prices on the park’s official website. Tickets can also be purchased at the park’s ticket booths. Adult tickets are 35 Euros, allowing unlimited use throughout the day. And there are promotional brochures available in some shops offering a buy two, get one free deal.

The amusement park consists of several levels. On the first level there is a high tower, a carousel and a Ferris wheel. First we rode the high tower and enjoyed the beautiful views of Barcelona, as well as the Sacred Heart Temple.

These two attractions, the high tower and the Ferris wheel, provide a wonderful view of the city. Overall I recommend riding these attractions to see the city from a height.

After getting off the Ferris wheel, we moved on to other attractions. Another attraction with beautiful views is Mru Brus. This attraction is suitable for the whole family. It is very calm and quite beautiful and we always enjoy riding it.

Our next attraction was Merli. It opened this year and may not be suitable for everyone as it is a free-fall attraction. It was fantastic. It started raining in the park, but the attractions continued to operate. There was no wind, but the number of people decreased a bit. Everyone was still touring, strolling and riding the attractions. The rain did not stop anyone, neither the children nor the adults from enjoying the attractions and that is really wonderful.

Later we approached the American mountains and then boarded the boats. Unlike PortAventura this park does not offer the option to purchase express passes for skipping lines. However, there are generally not as long queues as in PortAventura. Still you might need to wait for the most popular attractions. For example, there was about a one-hour wait for the water slide.

The park map looks like this. We were near the water attractions and also visited the American mountains. These maps are available throughout the park, so you can easily find your way no matter where you are. The park’s opening hours are from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, with attractions usually operating until 9:30 pm. Therefore if you arrive at opening time and stay until closing, you can comfortably enjoy the park all day.

Within half an hour the weather changed completely, the sun came out again and the temperature rose. The fine mist of water was wonderfully refreshing. Our plan was to ride the Carousel ship, which moves back and forth like a large swing. I really enjoyed this and there was a queue here as well.

Regarding food and drinks in the park, you can find hamburgers, fries, various desserts and drinks at some restaurants. Generally it's hard to find healthy food, but you won’t go hungry.

Today we managed to ride all the attractions we liked and rode many of them multiple times. The park had people, but it wasn’t too crowded. The longest queues were about an hour, but it’s always possible to find attractions with shorter queues. For families with children, the queues at kid-friendly attractions might be longer, but for extreme attractions, the queues are shorter. In this park you can find a variety of attractions suitable for both young children and those seeking real extreme experiences.

In the evening we ended our day with the sounds of the park’s attractions. I’m sending you all a hug and see you on new trips.
