Hello dear travel lovers. If you live in a hot place this summer and stepped outside even once during the day, you know very well what I am about to talk about. It seems like the sun has decided to break new records and temperatures falling below 30 degrees has become a true luxury.

So, what can those who do not want to sit at home do? You are a bit bored of the beach, sitting by the pool is dull and touring cities or historical places in this heat is pure torture. There is a great option where you can cool off, get an adrenaline rush and spend an entire day with the whole family.

This week we went to just such a place, Marineland water park located near the city of Blanes. This entertainment complex is located in the town of Palafolls. You can reach it by public transport or taxi. We came in our own car and left it in the paid parking lot. We bought our tickets in advance online. You can also buy tickets at the box office, but buying online is cheaper.

We paid extra inside the park for parking, a locker and FastPass, then set off to find a place to relax. On the way, we passed by a very cute spot with colorful flamingos.

Here, you can relax on sun loungers for an extra fee or set up on the grass for free. We chose the second option.

During peak season the number of visitors is very high, which is why queues always form in front of popular slides. Moreover you do not just wait in line. You also have to wait for an available raft or tube if needed to slide. If you do not want to lose much time waiting, you might consider getting a FastPass in advance. This card significantly reduces the time spent in lines and makes your vacation much more comfortable. Rafts in the park are divided into different colors and rafts meant for FastPass are always labeled. Also a separate line is reserved at some slides so you do not have to wait long for your turn.

There is a pool islet here that is not deep at all, with small fountains and mini slides for kids. The water is only ankledeep. you can walk in and cool off, which is exactly what I wanted to do.

Of course, there are many places to eat in the park. Bars, restaurants, ice cream shops, snack places. A picnic area is also available.

There is a very small and quiet corner in the park Butterfly Garden. There are not many butterflies inside, but the atmosphere is very pleasant. For me it is a cute spot. You can take a walk and step inside, maybe you will see the butterflies too.

In addition to the butterfly garden, shows with marine life are organized in the water park area, sea lions, dolphins. These shows traditionally fill the entire amphitheater and are included in the price of the entrance ticket. However, I want to share my personal opinion here. I do not really like this kind of show featuring animals and I believe these types of entertainment should gradually remain in the past. Therefore, I will not dwell on these shows in detail. Still for the objectivity of the review, I find it important to mention that they are part of the park program and offered to all visitors without extra charge.

There are several pools in the park area. Personally, the one I liked the most was the wave pool. Of course, as expected, it was crowded.

However the most important thing in the park is, of course, the slides. There are slides here for every taste. For adrenaline lovers, for those who prefer a calmer relaxation and for the smallest visitors. What pleased me the most was the variety. In a single day, you can try completely different slides, find the ones just right for you and slide as much as you want.

For an extra fee, you can take photos with marine animals and participate in a swim with dolphins program. Photographers also work in the park. At the end of the day, you can look at all the photos on special boards and buy the ones you like.

The water park is open until 18:00. Actually, it could definitely stay open longer because summer days are long and hot. When you look around, the number of people is very high, there is a wild crowd wanting to slide down the slides.

FastPass saves this situation, it is a system that really works. First of all, you can get your raft from a priority line. There are plenty of those rafts there. You arrive, grab your red raft and go. In other words, you do not need to wait thinking "which one should I ride first." Another big advantage of FastPass is that some slides have a separate access corridor. So again, you do not need to wait in that massive queue, you pass through your own line and go slide.

As for lockers, renting a locker costs 11 Euros. Parking is 6 Euros.

I liked this water park. The slide variety and everything was super awesome. That is all for today, friends.
