A Parade of Colors!
Today we head to Pigeon Point Beach on the northern coastline of Tobago for some awesome Caribbean fun! Pigeon Point Beach is one of the must go to beaches of the sister isle and is so unbelievably breathtaking! Today we explore the ins and outs as well as the sights of the popular beach with its amazing waters, white sands and famous jetty!
The morning we visited as extremely clear and brilliant weather for flying the drone to get some amazing aerial shots! The wind was calm and the waves reflected that in their calmness. The colors of the warm Tobagonian waters were amazing as always and was the first thing we noticed as we parked in the carpark.
There were lots of wooden huts amidst the coconut trees before the shoreline where you could get ice cream and other food items! There were also a few bars. You can see the white sands and the breathtaking blue waters in the image above and how well it stands out!
Going a little higher with the drone to get some more visibility of the waters, I was immediately hit with a barrage of turquoise that filled the drone feed screen. I just cannot get enough of the ocean waters in Tobago but Pigeon Point has to have some of the best hues of the whole country!
I could not resist taking a shot between the coconut trees and lining up a small boat in between them in the waters. The waters were so calm and gave way to so much color that they looked almost as if they were glowing of their own and not being illuminated by the sun!
A huge cloud came over temporarily as I took the photo above of some stretch of the beach as well as the famous jetty that it is known for. I just loved how the coconut trees lined the coastline from within the white sands that made it feel like a true island paradise.
Moving closer to get some shots of the jetty, I managed to see another building lower down that seemed to be the main one of the the rest and it lead to way to the jetty itself upon entering.
It was indeed one of the bars where you could get drinks and food as well as beach supplies such as sand toys, inflatables and a nice gift shop for souvenirs. There were also the other supplementary buildings where you could bathe and change in privacy as well as the toilets and main offices.
The jetty itself was the gem of the whole beach where everyone would come to do their wedding shoots, engagement shoots, instagram shots and other social media activities. When you think of Tobago, you think of the Pigeon Point beach and when you think of that, you think of this iconic jetty! Hence this jetty is an iconic Tobagonian image!
Lower down past the jetty was just more beach that was more private for those who would like the rent out the "Bungalow", a large luxurious villa available for families to stay. You can see it in the shot above on the right amidst the coconut trees! It is quite fun to stay in with you own private beach!
Moving higher up along the coastline back past the jetty and flying outwards from the coastline a bit I managed to capture the whole of what you would call Pigeon point! And it really does look like a point in the coastline. The water looked s clean and clear and you could see through to the reefs below with such ease!
This side of the beach is where people usually partake in parasailing and wind surfing as well as jet skiing. It was quite early on a week day so it was quite empty for now and even so many of the tourists like to take a late lazy start to the day! You can see how the reef stretches for miles!
Another thing that occurs here is that the vibrant and colorful reef tour boats pass close to the beach here, sometimes stopping off as well. They, to me, seemed like such colorful patrols passing back and forth, each having their unique shape, build and colors! They are quite fascinating to look at!
I managed to capture these two that looked like they were on a collision course with one another amidst the eye catching blue waters! These two are my favorite as it showcases the clarity and saturation of the ocean here as well as the uniqueness of the boats and their colors as well as design.
Thus other yellow one wall named sugar lips and had lips painted all over it with green and yellow highlights! The Caribbean sun seemed to make the paint even more lively and pop out against the tropical waters.
Another one caught my eye that was a double decker. It seemed like a real party boat with lots of music and ladders to climb between the decks. Imagine taking the tour and on the way back, you get to hang out on the top taking in the ocean breeze while taking in a refreshing drink and enjoying the music.
It was my favorite as it proudly flew the national flag of Trinidad and Tobago, the red white and black. Look how amazing the water and the reef below looks! It was just so cool to think that the boat looks so appropriate and topical for its route!
Pigeon Point has become, after this visit, one of my most favorite of the beaches in Trinidad as well as Tobago. No other beats its cleanliness, clarity of water and beauty of its reefs and ocean color. The colorful and vibrant boats that pass by are totally a whole experience and just makes Tobago the gem that it is, thanks a lot for coming along, Cheers!
