In search for a new place to eat, we decided to visit House of Yogurt/Calajo. I have passed by this a couple of times and have been meaning to pay a visit and good thing we found the time.

House of Yogurt/Calajo is situated on the side of the mountain. The restaurant is at the second floor. It is best to eat at the porch so you can have a view of some of Baguio City, Tuba, and a perfect location for a sunset overlooking China Sea.

We started our breakfast with brewed coffee which is locally grown.

I prefer coffee to start my day. That strong aroma and taste of brewed coffee feels like home.

We ordered chicken avocado because this is something new to me. I think it was a creative infusion that is new to my pallate. It is tasty and creamy and balanced. We also ordered sauted button mushrooms with garlic. We added white and red rice to see which is better and I would recommend the red rice because it is more delicious plus it is organic. They serve pancakes with strawberries and strawberry jam. This is a nice touch because it is what Baguio and La Trinidad are famous for.

We finished that off with dark chocolates which are also locally made. These are the first locally made chocolates and I am loving it although I love the dark/mint combo more.

The meal is satisfying. The place is clean and bright and the staff gave great service. I still have to try what House of Yogurt Cafe has to offer.

The lower ground floor is where you can find the House of Yogurt Cafe. Aside from yogurt and yogurt based products, they serve cakes, pastries, coffee and other hot/cold beverages. This is where the reception/cashier and the souvenir shop are located.

You can find everything here from bags, wallets, table runners, salad bowls to scarves, shirts, hats to wall decors, candles to wine, honey, spreads, jams to coffee, tea to soaps, hair wax to food like vegetable noodles, chips made from banana, sweet potato and taro, frozen food and ice cream, etc. It's almost the perfect one-stop souvenir shop. Accessories like keychains and jewelries are also sold. The best thing is that everything is locally made. There are handknited and woven products and some wooden sculptures. You can also buy some locally grown organic produce if you do not want to go to the market.

This is one of the best places to stay and experience a little of what the Cordillera has to offer without leaving the place. Stay and bring home with you a part of Baguio City and the Cordilleras.
