I saw this place posted by one of my friends so I went out and find it.
This is located at km 6, La Trinidad just a couplr of kilometers away from our home. I then walked going there, additional steps for my actifit.
I intended originally to go for desserts but I just cannot resist trying their pasta and citron tea.
Luckily, there were still chocolate cake available and ordered that.
It has a cherry on top but of course, I did not eat that. I'm not a fan of cherries.
The cake itself and the icing are not that sweet. What adds sweetness to it is the caramel that was used to give aesthetic presentation to the cake.
It is just the right amount of sweetness I am looking for.
Other than cakes, they also serve pasta, sandwiches, snacks, shakes, coffee, etc.
The price is affordable and worth it. Serving is just right and my ordered arrived quickly.
The place has couches and benches which gives it a relaxing and homey vibe even though it is simply decorated.
They have books available for reading while you are there. I forgot to browse what genre those are though.
They used sticks and branches to decorate the place which is a nice touch.
In support of the limit use of plastic, they so take outs but you have to bring tour own bag/containers.
Sweet potato doughnuts, gabi or taro cupcakes, oatmeal bar and their own yogurt are also sold there.
I also tried their shrimp scampi. The pasta is firm but cooked right which I like. There are three medium shrimps added to it.
They were generous with the oil used. It has some pepper flakes, basil and nuts in it but just a hint of spiciness was tasted. I coukd probably ask for more pepper but I forgot. Maybe next time.
There is more of sweetness though. Overall, it is an okay meal. The serving is enough to satisfy one person.
The citron tea I ordered doesn't match the sweetness of the cake. It has a different sweetness more natural than the cake. However, as you drink it more, it washes away the taste of the cake and you appreciate the goodness and deliciousness of the tea. You can then taste the sweet and sour taste.
The pot says coffee but it is actually tea.
All in all, it was a nice and surprisingly good experience. The place needs more lighting though especially further back because it is dim to almost dark in that area. Then again, they probably wanted to achieve intimacy there for comfortable couches were placed.
