The good thing about the last trip my friend and I took with her family was that being in the van we could go anywhere with ease. This comfort took us to a lot of places within the surroundings of Puerto Madryn in the province of Chubut. allowing us to have a few beautiful postcards of this place. One of them was the one we obtained after visiting the Natural Reserve of sea lions in Punta Loma, just 16 km from the city center. And it was worth going there! ❤️
Lo bueno que tuvo el último viaje que hicimos mi amiga y yo con su familia fue que al estar en la camioneta podíamos ir a cualquier lado con facilidad. Esta comodidad nos llevó a un montón de lugares dentro de los alrededores de Puerto Madryn en la provincia de Chubut. permitiéndonos tener unas cuántas postales hermosas de este lugar. Una de ellas fue la que obtuvimos luego de visitar la Reserva Natural de lobos marinos en Punta Loma, a tan solo 16 km del centro de la ciudad. ¡Y valió la pena ir hasta allá ❤️!
To get there we had to do 75% of the route on gravel roads: I must say that the road was well preserved, although there were quite a few potholes in parts. The soil in the province of Chubut is clayey, so the truck did not come out unscathed when it got dusty. Be that as it may, we were able to reach the reserve safely, following the path indicated on the map 😃.
Para llegar hasta allá tuvimos que hacer el 75% del recorrido en calle de ripio: debo decir que el camino estaba bien conservado, aunque por partes había bastantes baches. El suelo de la provincia de Chubut es arcilloso, por lo que la camioneta no salió ilesa cuando de llenarse de polvo se trató. Sea como sea, pudimos llegar hasta la reserva sanos y salvos, siguiendo el camino que nos indicaba el mapa 😃.
Upon arrival, we came across a public toilet post (the only public toilets we saw in areas far from the center during the entire trip) and a small park ranger refuge. There was a woman there who was in charge of giving us directions about the place and recommendations to continue discovering beautiful places ❣️.
Al llegar nos cruzamos con un puesto de baños públicos (los únicos baños públicos que vimos en áreas alejadas al centro durante todo el viaje) y un pequeño refugio de guardaparques. Allí había una mujer que se encargó de darnos indicaciones sobre el lugar y recomendaciones para seguir conociendo lugares hermosos ❣️.
The first thing that is recommended to do is the walk along the Flora Trail, a flat route between the plants that brings you closer to the sea. It is a good option to stretch the stones a bit after arriving all shaken from the city. Once that is finished and returning to the beginning of the tour, there is another small informative tour about the main inhabitant of this place: the sea lions 😃.
Lo primero que se recomienda hacer es la caminata por el Sendero Flora, un recorrido plano entre las plantas que te acerca hasta el mar. Es una buena opción para estirar un poco las piedras después de llegar todo sacudido desde la ciudad. Una vez terminado eso y volviendo al inicio del recorrido, hay otro pequeño recorrido informativo sobre el principal habitante de este lugar: los lobos marinos 😃.
When we got closer to the water part I literally screamed. I didn't think there would be so many and I was really surprised. There would be about a hundred specimens, most of them sleeping and others barely moving or going to the water. Although we had already seen sea lions in the port of Mar del Plata in Buenos Aires, we had never seen so many and so together. They were very cute ❤️.
Cuando nos acercamos a la parte del agua literalmente se me salió un grito. No pensaba que iban a haber tantos y me sorprendí de verdad. Habrían unos cien ejemplares, la mayoría de ellos durmiendo y otros apenas moviendose o yendo al agua. Si bien nosotros ya habíamos visto lobos marinos en el Puerto de Mar del Plata en Buenos Aires, nunca habíamos visto tantos y tan juntos. Eran muy tiernos ❤️.
According to what the park ranger had told us, at this time of year, sea lions come here to rest, feed, and raise their pups. In the other half of the year is when they undertake long journeys into the sea to find a partner and reproduce. Each male sea lion has a harem of between 8 and 12 females, and although they are somewhat territorial, they all seemed to be living peacefully together at the time. Bah, the truth is that it seemed that they didn't feel like fighting or moving 😅.
De acuerdo a lo que nos había contado la guardaparques, en esta época del año, los lobos marinos vienen acá a descansar, alimentarse y a hacer crecer a sus crías. En la otra mitad del año es cuando emprenden largos viajes dentro del mar para buscar pareja y reproducirse. Cada lobo marino macho tiene un harem de entre 8 y 12 hembras, y a pesar de que son algo territoriales, todos ellos parecían convivir en paz en ese momento. Bah, la verdad es que parecía que no tenían ganas ni de pelearse, ni moverse 😅.
It was great to have seen all these animals in their natural habitat and to see them so peaceful. Although my friend's father did not want to go to this place because "he said there was going to be a smell of sea lions", we still forced him to bring us and there was nothing foul smelling. He had to admit it to everyone and he also said that he liked the place. And we feel a bit envious for the life of laziness and rest that these wolves have: whoever can, enjoy it!
Fue genial haber visto a todos estos animales en su hábitat natural y que se los vea tan en paz. Si bien el padre de mi amiga no quería llegar hasta este lugar porque "decía que iba a haber olor a lobo marino", igual lo obligamos a traernos y no había nada de olor feo. Tuvo que reconocerlo ante todos y también dijo que le gustó el lugar. Y sentimos un poco de envidia por la vida de pereza y descanso que tienen estos lobos: ¡el que puede, que lo disfrute!
