Municipio de San Ignacio, Misiones, Argentina
The trip to the province of Misiones was one of the most beautiful I did. So far it is the farthest place from home that I have ever been, always within Argentina, because what interests me the most is getting to know my own country. A few years ago, when tourist packages were still economically accessible, we hired a travel package that took us on several excursions, one of which I want to share with you today: a walk through the Jesuit Missions of San Ignacio Miní ❤️.
El viaje a la provincia de Misiones fue uno de los más lindos que hice. Hasta ahora es el lugar más lejos de mi casa al que fui, siempre dentro de Argentina, porque lo que más me interesa es conocer mi propio país. Hace unos años, cuando los paquetes turísticos eran aún accesibles económicamente, contratamos un paquete de viaje que nos llevó a varias excursiones, una de ellas las que quiero compartir con ustedes hoy: paseo por las Misiones Jesuíticas de San Ignacio Miní ❤️.
I confess that when we read this on the travel itinerary I had no idea what it was about: when I go to a new place I try to google as little as possible because I like to surprise myself. He had only read that it was an ancient ruined city, but I didn't know much more than that.
Confieso que cuando leímos esto en el itinerario de viaje no tenía idea de qué se trataba: cuando voy a un lugar nuevo intento googlear lo menos posible porque me gusta sorprenderme a mí misma. Solo había leído que se trataba de una antigua ciudad en ruinas, pero no sabía mucho más que eso.
The visit had a guide who told us everything about the place. This type of service is very important when you are in these places, since there are people like me who hardly know where they are standing 😂.
La visita tenía un guía que nos contaba todo al respecto del lugar. Este tipo de servicios es muy importante cuando te encuentras en estos lugares, ya que hay personas como yo que apenas saben en donde estan paradas 😂.

This place was a settlement built within the framework of the Jesuit missions to evangelize the Guarani who lived there at the beginning of the seventeenth century. Inside this property that is currently organized as a museum you can see remains of the houses where people lived and the largest ruin: the great Church.
Este lugar era un asentamiento contruido dentro del marco de las misiones jesuíticas para evangelizar a los guaraníes que vivian allí a comienzos del siglo XVII. Dentro de este predio que actualmente está organizado como museo se pueden observar restos de las casas en donde vivían las personas y la ruina más grande: la gran Iglesia.

This place is really immense: the guide told us that it is quite destroyed since it received attacks by those who opposed evangelization. Of course, all this process was not peaceful at all on the part of the natives, but nevertheless these ruins are the best preserved within the Jesuit missions in Argentina.
Este lugar es realmente inmenso: el guía nos contó que está bastante destruido ya que recibió ataques por parte que quienes se oponían a la evangelización. Por supuesto todo este proceso no fue nada pacífico por parte de los nativos, pero que sin embargo estas ruinas son las que mejor se conservan dentro de las misiones jesuíticas en Argentina.
In turn, within the site of the ruins there is a museum where you can find items found within the ruins. There is also a very interesting model that represents what the ruins were like before they were destroyed.
A su vez, dentro del predio de las ruinas hay un museo en donde se pueden encontrar elementos hallados dentro de las ruinas. También hay una maqueta muy interesante que representa cómo eran las ruinas antes de ser destruidas.
Among the elements that are exposed in the museum are tools and utensils that were used at that time. It was strange for me to think about the clash of cultures that must have occurred, since each group surely had their own religious beliefs.
Entre los elementos que estan expuestos en el museo se encuentran herramientas y utensilios que utilizaban en esa época. Fue raro para mi pensar en el choque de culturas que se habrá dado, ya que cada grupo seguramente tenía sus propias creencias religiosas.

I really enjoyed this ride, however I was very tired since we traveled more than 18 hours there and we still had not rested well. But since nothing affects my good travel mood, I still had the energy to smile and to be happy to be there 😂.
Disfruté mucho de este paseo, sin embargo estaba muy cansada ya que viajamos más de 18 horas hasta allí y todavía no habiamos descansado bien. Pero como nada afecta mi buen mood de viaje, aún tenía energías para sonreir y para estar feliz de estar allí 😂.
It was interesting to get to know this place and I am glad I surprised myself on the same trip. Perhaps if I had already googled in advance or seen photos of the place on the internet, I would not have had the same impact. After that walk, which by the way was at 8 AM, we ran to breakfast. So much history made us quite hungry ❤️!
Fue interesante conocer este lugar y me alegro de haberme auto-sorprendido en el mismo viaje. Quizás si ya hubiese googleado con anticipación o visto fotos del lugar en internet no me hubiese generado el mismo impacto. Luego de ese paseo, que por cierto fue a las 8 AM, fuimos corriendo a desayunar. ¡Tanta historia nos dió bastante hambre ❤️!
