Buenos Aires, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina
Even being an inhabitant of the province of Buenos Aires, I cannot help finding the city charming. Perhaps it is because I don't live precisely among the bustle of the cars and buildings in the center: just going there is a walk for me because it takes me almost two hours to get there. And not everything is travel to know other provinces, I also like to walk around here: on that occasion we made a very special walk to what was formerly the Buenos Aires Zoo, now transformed into an Ecopark, a more animal-friendly place ❤️.
Aún siendo habitante de la provincia de Buenos Aires no puedo evitar encontrar encantadora a la ciudad. Quizás será porque yo no vivo precisamente entre el bullicio de los autos y edificios del centro: el solo hecho de ir hasta allí es un paseo para mí porque tardo casi dos horas en llegar. Y no todo es ir a conocer otras provincias: también me gusta pasear por aquí y en esa oportunidad realizamos un paseo muy especial a lo que antiguamente era el zoológico de Buenos Aires, ahora transformado en un Ecoparque, un lugar más amigable con los animales ❤️.
I still have some memories of my little sister and me there when the zoo was still running. I do not know if they are real memories or generated by some photographs since I believe that I was not even 5 years old in those photos. And as incredible and close as this place is, since then I had never gone again until a few months ago 😅.
Todavía tengo algunos recuerdos de mi hermana pequeña y yo allí cuando el zoológico todavía funcionaba. No sé si son recuerdos reales o generados por algunas fotografías ya que creo que yo no tenía ni 5 años en esas fotos. Y por más increíble y cerca que está este lugar, desde entonces nunca había vuelto a ir hasta hace algunos meses atrás 😅.
The concept that drives this entire site since 2016 is that of a large green space combined with some animals in the wild. So, you can walk around there and maybe you will come across one. When the zoo, opened in 1875, stopped working all the cages disappeared and a major renovation was done (which continues to this day).
El concepto que maneja todo este sitio desde el 2016 es el de un gran espacio verde combinado con algunos animales en libertad. Entonces, puedes pasear por allí y quizás te cruces con alguno. Cuando el zoológico inaugurado en 1875 dejó de funcionar todas las jaulas desaparecieron y se hizo una gran remodelación (que hasta el día de hoy continúa).

What I liked the most about this tour is that we went with my cousin and the children. I like to see the excitement of the little ones when they see things that they have never seen, or in this case animals that perhaps they only saw in drawings. They and their surprises made everything more fun ❤️.
Lo que más me gustó de este paseo es que fuimos con mi prima y los niños. Me gusta ver la emoción de los más pequeños al ver cosas que nunca han visto, o en este caso animales que quizás solo vieron en dibujitos. Ellos y sus sorpresas hicieron todo más divertido ❤️.
One of the things that excited me the most was the imposing lion cage (no lion of course now). It was a replica of a large cage in Poland where formerly there were big cats. That would have been interesting to see, but luckily the welfare of these animals was prioritized.
Una de las cosas que más me emocionó a mí fue la imponente jaula de leones (por supuesto sin ningún león ahora). Era una réplica de una gran jaula de Polonia en donde antiguamente habían grandes felinos. Eso sí que hubiese sido interesante para ver, pero por suerte se priorizó el bienestar de estos animales.
At that moment I was proud of my new cell phone because with its camera and a wide angle lens I was able to capture almost the entire building 😃.
En ese momento me sentí orgullosa de mi celular nuevo porque con su cámara y un lente gran angular pude capturar casi la totalidad del edificio 😃.
Another interesting part of the entire Ecopark was the ancient source of the whales. One of the photos as a child that I mentioned at the beginning was in this place, so I recognized it immediately. Now there are no longer any whales and in their place there are dancing waters. This must be great this summer time, but when we went it was cold so we avoided the water 😅.
Otra parte interesante de todo el Ecoparque fue la antigua fuente de las ballenas. Una de las fotos de pequeña que mencioné al principio era en este lugar, por lo cual lo reconocí de inmediato. Ahora ya no hay ninguna ballena y en su lugar hay aguas danzantes. Esto debe ser genial en esta época veraniega, pero cuando fuimos hacía frío por lo que evitamos el agua 😅.
A structure that is also preserved within the ex-zoo is the condor cage. This large metal structure is impressive and is currently under repair, without any condors inside. Seeing all this in the middle of the city seemed incredible to me, considering that just on the other side of the street is all the movement of the city.
Una estructura que también se conserva dentro del ex-zoológico es la jaula de los cóndores. Esta gran estructura metálica es imponente y actualmente esta en reparación, sin ningún cóndor en su interior. Ver todo esto en medio de la ciudad me pareció increíble, considerando que apenas al otro lado de las rejas está todo el movimiento de la ciudad.
Among the animals that do remain free within this area, we saw a diversity of birds, monkeys, camels and capybaras. They all seemed quite used to people, almost not scared to see us 😅.
Dentro de los animales que sí permanecen en libertad dentro de esta área vimos diversidad de pájaros, monos, camellos y carpinchos. Todos ellos parecían bastante acostumbrados a las personas, casi que ni se asustaban al vernos 😅.

The animals that formerly lived here were returned to their natural habitats, while others that remain here do so because perhaps they are very old and do not know any other way of life than captivity. This seemed a bit sad to me, but I trust that the people of the Ecopark take good care of them 😃.
Los animales que antiguamente vivían aquí fueron devueltos a sus hábitats naturales, mientras que otros que permanecen aquí lo hacen porque quizás son muy mayores y no conocen otra forma de vida que sea el cautiverio. Esto me pareció algo un poco triste, pero confío en que la gente del Ecoparque los cuidan muy bien 😃.
I think we all had a great day touring the park. At one point we stopped for lunch some sandwiches and then we continued walking around the area. That day it was a bit cold, but with all that we walked we soon warmed up 😅.
Creo que todos pasamos un gran día recorriendo el parque. En un momento paramos para almorzar unos sanguches y luego seguimos paseando por la zona. Ese día hacía algo de frío, pero con todo lo que caminamos no tardamos en entrar en calor 😅.

Finally, I share with you some photos of the first peacock that I saw in my life. This bird was really BEAUTIFUL, internally I wanted it to unfold its beautiful feathers but although it did not happen, it made me very happy (so much that I chased it a bit to be able to photograph it hahaha) ❤️.
Por último, comparto con ustedes unas fotos del primer pavo real que vi en mi vida. Este ave era realmente HERMOSA, internamente deseaba que desplegara sus hermosas plumas pero aunque no sucedió, me hizo muy feliz (tanto que un poco lo perseguí para poder fotografiarlo hahaha) ❤️.

Because it is the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires and precisely the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires is a great place to receive tourists, and why not also, to us residents who live a little far away. I think that this place is a great playground for the neighbors who live in those buildings and perhaps they are not so much in contact with the green spaces. It was a great ride, I'm glad I went and remember some moments from my childhood ❤️.
Por ser la capital de Argentina, Buenos Aires y precisamente la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires es un gran lugar para recibir turistas, y por qué no también, a nosotros los residentes que vivimos un poco lejos. Pienso que este lugar es un gran patio de descanso para los vecinos que viven en esos edificios y quizás no estan tanto en contacto con los espacios verdes. Fue un gran paseo, me alegro de haber ido y recordar algunos momentos de mi infancia ❤️.
