If you find yourself as a tourist in Buenos Aires, your obligatory visit has to be the area of Palermo and its surroundings, the great green space in the middle of the city. I am not a tourist but I live in the southern zone, so going to the center is always a good option for us. And even though I am relatively close to this place, in all these years I never had the opportunity to visit the famous rose garden in all its blooming splendor until a couple of days ago. Luckily, everything lined up for me and I was able to walk a little among the flowers of this beautiful place 😃.
Si te encuentras como turista en Buenos Aires, tu visita obligatoria tiene que ser al área de Palermo y sus alrededores, el gran espacio verde en medio de la ciudad. Yo no soy turista pero vivo en la zona sur, por lo que ir al centro siempre es una buena opción de paseo para nosotros. Y a pesar de que estoy relativamente cerca de este lugar, en todos estos años nunca tuve la oportunidad de visitar al famoso jardín de rosas en todo su esplendor florecido sino hasta hace un par de días. Por suerte, todo se alineó para mí y pude pasear un poco entre las flores de este lindo lugar 😃.
It's not that it's so difficult to get there or that you have to guess what time of year the flowers in the garden bloom, but that for some reason or another I couldn't go for a walk at those times. Of course this is a walk that can be done all year round because the garden itself is beautiful, but of course the fun is seeing all the bushes full of colorful roses. The favorite dates to see this nature show is between September and October, which is when spring visits us in this part of the world, but I think that if you go a few days before or after there are still some buds left 💖.
No es que sea tan difícil llegar o que haya que adivinar en qué momento del año las flores del jardín florecen, sino que por alguna razón u otra no podía ir en esos momentos a pasear. Por supuesto este es un paseo que se puede hacer todo el año porque el jardín en sí es hermoso, pero por supuesto la gracia es ver todos los arbustos llenos de rosas coloridas. Las fechas predilectas para ver este show de la naturaleza es entre septiembre y octubre que es cuando la primavera nos visita en esta parte del mundo, pero creo que si vas algunos días antes o después todavía quedan algunos pimpollos 💖.
This was my third visit to the rose garden of Palermo and I finally got to see the beautiful roses. On my previous visit over a year ago I had only been able to see a bunch of empty bushes with the names of each species, but this time they were already in bloom. This space was designed by landscaper Carlos Thays and includes brick pathways and whitish pergolas, which together with the green of the vegetation and the colors of the flowers make a great harmonious combination. This place is so beautiful that it makes you want to stay for a long time 😃.
Esta fue mi tercera visita al Rosedal de Palermo y al fin pude ver a las tan hermosas rosas. En mi visita anterior hace más de un año solo había podido ver un montón de árbustos vacios con los nombres de cada especie, pero esta vez ya estaban florecidos. Este espacio fue diseñado por el paisajista Carlos Thays e incluye caminos de ladrillo y pérgolas blanquecinas, que junto con el verde de la vegetación y los colores de las flores hacen una gran combinación armoniosa. Este lugar es tan hermoso que te dan ganas de quedarte un buen rato 😃.
As this garden is in one of the most popular places in the city, it can be easily reached by public transport and admission is free. It depends on the time of the year, it is open until dark, but it is recommended to go early because this is not the only green space to visit in this area. The Rose Garden on the shores of the lake, together with the Ecoparque (former zoo) and the Botanical Garden represent the three must-sees in Palermo ❣️.
Como este jardín queda en uno de los lugares más populares de la ciudad se puede llegar a él en transporte público fácilmente y la entrada es libre y gratuita. Depende de la época del año, está abierto hasta que oscurezca, pero se recomienda ir temprano porque este no es el único espacio verde para visitar en esta área. El Rosedal a orillas del lago, junto con el Ecoparque (ex zoológico) y el Jardín Botánico representan los tres imperdibles de Palermo ❣️.
This garden is widely used by photographers to do their work, traditionally to have memories of "quinceañeras" at their special parties. If you want to have a good memory of your 15th birthday, photographers usually bring you here to get some good shots. This is well known by all, and on my last visit I discovered that the garden has a special space set aside for this purpose. I found it very considerate on the part of the garden administration, since as there are people all the time it must be very difficult to find a place with a background without other people for the photos 💕.
Este jardín es ampliamente utilizado por fotógrafos para hacer su trabajo, tradicionalmente para tener recuerdos de las "quinceañeras" en sus fiestas especiales. Si querés tener un buen recuerdo de tu cumpleaños #15, los fotógrafos suelen traerte acá para obtener unas buenas tomas. Esto ya es bien sabido por todos, y en mi última visita descubrí que el jardín tiene delimitado un espacio especial para este fin. Me pareció muy considerado por parte de la administración del jardín, ya que como todo el tiempo hay gente debe ser muy difícil encontrar un lugar con un fondo sin otras personas para las fotos 💕.
What I love about nature is that it is magical and can be transformed enough to make any landscape beautiful. When I visited this place in the fall it was beautiful because of all the decoration it had, but seeing all the bushes full of roses made it even more amazing. By the end of spring, the City of Buenos Aires organizes the famous "Rosedal pruning", which is when they condition the place and cut the roses to give them to the neighbors. Lucky those who can take each part of this great garden ❣️.
Lo que me encanta de la naturaleza es que es mágica y puede transformarse tanto como para hacer hermoso cualquier paisaje. Cuando visité este lugar en otoño era hermoso por toda la decoración que tenía, pero ver todos los arbustos llenos de rosas lo hizo aún más genial. Para el fin de la primavera, la Ciudad de Buenos Aires organiza la famosa "poda del Rosedal", que es cuando acondicionan el lugar y recortan las rosas para regalarlas a los vecinos. Afortunados aquellos que pueden llevarse a cada una parte de este gran jardín ❣️.
I was very happy to have finally seen the Rosedal in its most beautiful time: this is one of the places that I recommend to all tourists who ask me about beautiful places to visit in the city of Buenos Aires, but we who are locals too we enjoy it. My only advice is to avoid wearing white shoes or sandals because the brick dust is not so friendly when you walk too much, but believe me it is worth getting a little dirty 😅.
Me alegró mucho haber visto al fin el Rosedal en su época más linda: este es uno de los lugares que recomiendo a todos los turistas que me preguntan sobre sitios hermosos para ir a visitar en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, pero nosotros que somos locales también lo disfrutamos. Mi único consejo es que eviten llevar calzado blanco o sandalias porque el polvo de ladrillo no es tan amigable cuando caminas demasiado, pero creanme que vale la pena ensuciarse un poco 😅.
