Hello everyone.😊 Monday - Friday when school starts. After my wife and I sent our son (autistic) to a school for child with special needs. my wife and I have about 5 - 7 hours of free time each day. If we don't work at our longan plantation. We like to travel to tourist attractions near our home. Especially sacred places such as temples. Visiting our temple, besides seeing and enjoying the beauty of the temples. It is also our spiritual anchor.
Last week my wife and I planned a trip to Chiang Rai. Chiang Rai is a northern province of Thailand. which has many interesting tourist attractions and temples. Such as Wat Rong Khun (white temple) and Wat Rong Suea Ten (blue temple). But there is one more beautiful temple in this province that I want to share with everyone in this post. This temple is called Wat Khua Khrae.
Wat Khua Khrae is an old temple built in AD 1896 or 128 years. This temple received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree 2 times. The first time was in AD 1977 or 47 years ago. And the 2nd time in AD 2010 or 14 years ago.

This temple was not in our Chiang Rai Trip plan. My wife and I see this temple by accident. Because the striking and grand of the two large white lion statues on the temple wall between the entrance and the buddha image hall (viharn) along the highway. It catch our eyes.
Two white lion statues larger than a person. Look at the size of the lion statue with my wife. These lion statues create the Lanna art style. (Ancient northern art from the past to the present).


A large buddha image hall (viharn) is near the entrance to the temple. If you look from the highway in the distance, you will see this temple standing out on the roadside.
The buddha image hall (viharn) is built of bricks and plastered with cement. Create and decorate Lanna style stucco patterns. Which looks beautiful and unique.
The serpent staircase in front of the buddha image hall (viharn) is the large serpent statues and looks beautiful and grand.



The inside of this buddha image hall (viharn) is decorated in Lanna style as well. Looks simple but beautiful. And inside this buddha image hall (viharn) there is also the main buddha image, which is a large white buddha image. The size of this main buddha image is very large. Looks different from other main buddha image and is unique.



Beside the buddha image hall (viharn) there is a large pavilion for religious ceremonies and other buildings. Inside the pavilion there is the buddha images.


This temple has another buddha image hall (viharn). This buddha image hall (viharn) is small, built and decorated in original Lanna style, which has a clear unique. Unfortunately, this buddha image hall (viharn) is not open for visitors to see inside.


The ordination hall (ubosot) of temple is the same size as a small buddha image hall (viharn). This ordination hall (ubosot) is also built and decorated with stucco patterns in the Lanna style. Different from a small buddha image hall (viharn) just in color and pattern.


The temple has 2 pagodas. The first pagoda is a beautiful white pagoda. This pagoda is large and grand. And another pagoda is a black pagoda. The size of this black pagoda is much smaller than the white pagoda.


There is also a large pavilion and a small pavilion. Inside each pavilion there is the buddha images. Both pavilions are beautiful. Especially the large pavilion which is unique. But we cannot see the inside of this large pavilion. Because there was a wall surrounding the pavilion and the door was closed.

Additionally, on the outdoor courtyard there are many buddha statues. These are just some of the buddha statues in this area.


This temple also has another area. We had to walk past a wall with two small lion statues on our way to the entrance to the area.
Another area of ​​the temple is a large outdoor courtyard, which has a large pavilion. And a tall and large standing buddha image. Looks outstanding on outdoor courtyard.
