Just back from hometown, been traveling back quite frequent to settle some matters. Traveling around had provide me with a perspective whereby how could I make my travel more efficient and less tiring. No doubt that having to travel from place to place is costing us time, money and energy. Thus, it is important for us to get things done when we are traveling to the destination. I had been on the bus, train and also plane. So far, plane is somewhat safer than bus as plane has the least accident rate compared to bus. Then, in terms of price, bus is of course the cheapest but when it comes to time cost, it would be quite competitive between plane and bus. I could not work much on bus as I will have motion sick, so I’m literally stuck when I’m on the bus, except for some phone calls and some messaging. Whereas on plane, it is an hour of own time to sort things out. Then during the waiting period at airport, I could do quite a lot of stuff. To me, airplane travel allows me to have more time on ground which I could do some work. As long as I’m in motion like on the bus or driving (individual car), it would be not productive for me. Haha, quite confusing with my thoughts here. So let me summarize it up:

Time: Airplane takes the least time to travel from point A to B but including the time to travel to airport and waiting to board the plane, that would add up to be more than bus. For bus, I will just need to go to bus terminal and hop on the bus at a very short waiting period. However, the most important is the time whereby I could work on something which is to stay at a spot without motion. So I would prefer plane if the cost is justifiable.

Cost: Bus comes in a winner but some time plane can be very competitive as well. Train is not my choice as it is not that fast nor it is not that cheap either.

Safety: Definitely plane triumphs them all. So taking planes is like taking a premium insurance to travel. Think of it, train also has quite a low accident rate too.

Quality: Plane experience is quite constant as most of time I am taking Air Asia to travel. As for bus, it sucks and really depends on luck to see whether I get a good bus or not. While for train, it is also quite constant and just depend on which cabin I get.

In overall, I would say there are pros and cons to travel with either means. Which kind of transport you usually choose to travel? Do share with me :)
