The Weilong House, a unique Hakka architectural style, shares the same concept as the Siheyuan courtyard house, but differs greatly in shape; a half-round pond in front of the door, a square front yard called Wei, and variations of two or three halls with two wings; the back yard is mostly semicircular, and built on a hillside, forming a low-front-high-back, low-sides-high-middle double-arched curve, which together makes up a complete Weilong House.

The Grandma’s house is such a Weilong House converted into a guesthouse. Since it was taken over by this family during the Qing Dynasty, they have been tightly bound to it, going through storms and hardships together, and protecting each other; therefore, today’s bricks and tiles, houses, and eaves are still in their original state. This kind of care and the owner’s daily interaction are inseparable. No matter what era or situation they are in, there are always family members living in the east wing.

They never separate. It’s really legendary! The backyard is all guest rooms. The west wing is a tea room and an art gallery. The restaurant is in a new house outside. There is also a shallow swimming pool in the open space. It has complete facilities and a beautiful environment; By chatting with the boss in the tea room for tea, I listen to this old house’s story with time~
