The coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee is one of the absolute highlights of Sydney. We started walking off from Bondi Beach. It takes about an hour to walk from Bondi to Coogee, so you do not have to plan a full day, and you can, for example, link the walk with a visit to Bondi Icebergs Pool or Bondi Beach.
Directly at the beginning of the path, which leads down from the Icebergs pool in stages downhill, you can see spectacular cliffs, which also have rock engravings of the Aborigines.
The walk gives a great view of the coast, more secluded beaches. There are also some good cafes on the way. For more than six kilometers, this walk stretches along the cliffs, several beaches and parks, from Bondi via Tamarama, Bronte and Clovelly to Coogee. The trail passes one of the world's most picturesque cemeteries, Waverley Cemetery, where famous Australian figures such as Henry Lawson are buried. The walk was fantastic, we went from bay to bay.
The walk also includes a steep section and some stairs. Do not forget to bring your hat, sunscreen and water. We took a longer break at Coogee Beach. There are very few people compared to Bondi Beach, which we found pleasant. The beach itself is more delimited from the mainland. However, we have been told that mainly locals surf in this larger "bay". Once there, there are some rocks on the side of the beach that you can climb on. There we climbed up and had a perfect view of the professional surfers. To relax it was definitely a perfect place, its also a nice place to have a picnic. Especially compared to the Bondi Beach, where just a lot is going on, it was extremely quiet. From others we have heard that it was very crowded on the way to Coogee. This was not the case at the time we did the walk. Still, I would recommend anyone to take the walk in the morning. Especially for joggers the track was very popular, but no insider tip;)
