They say that to really get to know a place, you have to live it during sunset

Then colors and atmosphere of an impressive sunset can also help you live the magic and may even travel you back in time

The Venetian port of Heraklion

This is the old port of the city
It is used by the fishing boats and is a very picturesque place for images, for jogging or strolling

In a more primitive form, the Arabs tried to organized the bay into an ancient port during the 9th century
Before that no information is known to this day.

The visitor can walk direction west and I guarantee that the sunset they will see, will be breathtaking.

Turn around to your right and into the sea, as it gets so louminous from the red and orange colors of the sun

On this very day, I had to leave that spot to return home so I walked down the road.
Down to the Arsenalli, the Venetian Shipyards. Can you imagine that there used to be water up to the cements level?
