Dedication to the Cossack at school number 4 in Podolsk (Kotovsk)

School number 4 is the only Cossack school in the city. Each class is a chicken. Every year, on the Day of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Cossacks Day, a solemn event is held here - dedication to the Cossacks.

The roots of this holiday go back in time. In the Middle Ages of the history of Ukraine. Cossacks are our pride, our glory! From time immemorial, they have been protecting our Motherland from all external enemies. On the territory of Odessa region there are many settlements that are founded by Cossacks. Even Kotovsk (at that time: Birzula) was founded by free people - Cossacks. Not far from Kotovsk (Podolsk) is the Cossack town of Ananyev. For a long time I can list the cities and towns that were founded by Cossacks - free people.

Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a national holiday of the Ukrainian people. The Blessed Virgin Mary is the patroness of the Ukrainian Cossacks. By the way, it was on the Day of the Cossacks, by the decree of the President of Ukraine, a holiday was founded: Defender of Ukraine Day.

At the festival there are honored guests. In particular, the chieftain of the Kotovsky Kuren of the Black Sea Cossacks V.F. Lisovolik. It is important that at this holiday Cossacks accept not only kids, but also adults.
