Seeing animals that are not endemic to our country is worth doing, more so, getting up close and personal with them makes the experience more fun!
As soon as there were information about the soft opening of the Cebu Safari, my husband and I had cleared our schedules and drove two hours to get to this huge land area which is owned by the Lhuillier's. There have been news before about this tourist attraction but it was only in 2018 when it opened its doors to the public.
The registration area is quite far from the entrance. The design looks great! I wonder if they had maintained it though. I wish to visit this again when my baby is already big enough to appreciate the animals. It would be the best place to learn about these creatures.
The entrance fee before was Php 600 which includes a buffet lunch. Today, this has changed, no more lunch included but the entrance fee stays the same. That amount was just their promotion for their soft opening.
There's a huge garden inside this 170 hectare land. It showcases local plants and a collection of orchids!
These orchids were already 40 years old according to the workers. It was obvious that these flowers were already that old as their roots were already covering the tree barks on which they were planted. There were also moss growing in those tree barks signifying that they have been there for a long time already.
Our first stop was to check the birds. After paying for the entrance fee, a short introduction and reminders was given by some of the staffs. They gave us a map too showing the entire safari.
In the map, the nearest to us was the birds sanctuary next to the garden area.
Love their colors and how they can interact with humans. It seemed like they were not afraid of the visitors! There were also seeds for sale that visitors can feed to these birds. When a visitor opens a bag of seeds, they'd flock their way to the guest's arm or hand and start picking the seeds.
There are so many birds inside the sanctuary so watch your head! You might get a surprise!
Blue Macaws in the house. They were really friendly!
After checking the birds, I already forgotten where we went afterwards. But here are some of the images we took on our way to the actual Safari. The place was huge thus it was hard to just walk.
Good thing, they got vehicles to pickup and drop guests. We took advantage of it and had been taken to different spots without sweating!
One of our favorites were the monkeys. There were several types of them inside.
And these creatures were also present at the Cebu Safari! Do you recognize them?
However, the highlight of our visit was seeing these famous animals such as tigers from afar. They are being placed in this area which has a lot of land for the two of them to play and mingle. I wonder if they were male and female though but they look okay, they seem healthy and they even attempted going over the cliff.
Inside the Cebu Safari is an actual imitation of a safari. They had placed animals which can be found in the movie Lion King. I spotted some wilderbeasts, zebra and more.
I had missed to take photographs of the rest of the animals. There were so many of them at that time and we heard that there were still more animals to come. Remember that it was just a soft opening. I wonder how many animals were added today.
