According to ancient Hermetic teachings in the west and also ancient Vedic teachings in the east, everything in creation is originally a manifestation of mind. Wow, that sounds cosmic, I know. I’m just not sure what it means yet. When I look at the beautiful creations of nature that I see all around me here on the southernmost shoreline of Africa, I wonder whose mind they sprung from.
It’s a dramatic and moody mindset today by the look of the clouds and excited ocean, as I follow my own path along the shoreline here in the Garden Route region of the southern coast of Africa. It is perhaps the most beautiful region of the coast here in the south. And today the mood is wintry, since it is mid winter now.
Is this the manifestation of what is going on in the mind of the creator? Is he or she in a romantic and dramatic mood today? Or is it just the weather? Whatever the case, I came across some awesome weathered alcoves and little bays where the sea actually crashes against the rocky African shoreline. There are no sandy beaches on this particular stretch, only masses of smooth rounded stones and pebbles.
Fortunately, at some point the clouds clear and the usual sunshine pours through, as if the creator or Mother Nature changed their mind and the mood lifted. It’s amazing what the sunshine can do to inspire the setting. It all seems to depend on light, and warmth of course. The mind of the creator is as shifty as the weather, or is it vice versa? Either way, the natural surroundings are like an exquisite garden playground here along these remote and deserted shores.
Some of the geological structures are like giant playthings or climbing castles made of stone, for the pleasure of any wondering child on the playground of life. The sea shore is often seen as a place to come and play, and today is no different. The epic rock formations make for an adventure playground of note. Caves and crevices appear in every bay and alcove, along with cliffs to climb and pools in which to splash about to your heart’s content.
In other words it’s a healthy place, filled with fresh air and lots of sunshine most days. Today the clouds are also involved so the setting appears to be more dramatic and foreboding. The extreme rock formations comprising of steep cliffs and crashing waves all make for a powerful backdrop upon which to tap in to the abundant life force, also known as “chi” or “prana” in Oriental circles.
Whatever it is, it feels invigorating and uplifting. I’m sure it’s something to do with all the fresh oxygen and ions in the atmosphere which are so uplifting to the mood and quality of life. I would recommend it to anyone wherever you are. If you don’t have a beautiful body of water or a forest to retreat to like this place, then you are welcome to come here and join me on the Cape south coast of Africa.
The scene moves from dramatic steel grey to a happy burnt ochre and bright yellow in a flash. This is the more poetic side of the planet in the sense that one can feel inspired by the flowers and geological formations all day long if you choose. And hardly another person will encroach on the entire landscape which is yours to explore. So feel inspired to tap in to the beauty and power of nature here at its best. The photos alone will be enough to bring out the health and color in your cheeks as you admire them and compare them to your own landscape at home.
