Extremadura is a world to discover, although unfortunately, it is also a world flooded by large estates and impenitent land grabbers, many of them known figures from the world of film and television.

Regardless of this, it is a land of great natural resources, which is also characterized by the beautiful stamp of its villages, many of them set on the edge of imposing and fantastic mountains and mountains.

Such would be the case, without going any further, of some of the picturesque villages that dot the fruitful Valle del Jerte.

Located at the confluence with the Community and Land of Avila, it is the Port of Tornavacas and its brittle surroundings, which serves as a border between one and the other, saying goodbye to Castilla and welcoming Extremadura.

In the background, occupying places of preminence in the vast valleys - famous for the spectacular flowering of cherry trees - towns, such as Cabezuela del Valle, tempt us to visit, with the pleasant constitution of some homes, which still retain traces of their former condition medieval.

Located on the same side of the Jerte River, whose crystalline waters lift foam as it sinuously glides along the rocks of its riverbed, Cabezuela del Valle is one of those places that seem anchored in a space-time loop, difficult to define.

Their houses - in many cases, rebuilt after a War of Independence, whose fight against the French invader was especially tough - still remember the taste of the rural surroundings of yesteryear.

Single-family type and keeping the characteristics of the traditional pinewood houses, its beautiful wooden balconies, many of which also served as clotheslines and small makeshift gardens, attract attention.

The arcades, make up another of the showy features, as well as the solid lintels of a piece, in which there are still traces of a pious superstition, common to many Spanish peoples.

Another detail to highlight is the magnificent cuisine, the many catering offers and the spectacular roads and trails, which make up dream routes, especially recommended for adventure and hiking enthusiasts.
