Aside from its breathtaking natural beauty, which makes Asturias a well-deserved Natural Paradise and a golden page for the survival of that uniquely spiritual folklore that is myth, there are other places that, although ruined and partly forgotten, open the door to that old popular treasure, cleverly exploited by some visionaries, like the Brothers Grimm, which has accompanied us since our earliest childhood: legends.

For some strange reason, ancient Celtic hill forts, like this one in Coaña, where we find ourselves today, located a few kilometers from the beautiful town of Navia, bordering Lugo, have been surrounded by a fantastic aura of mystery that has woven numerous stories and supernatural events around them, the content of which remains latent in that fascinating universe, christened by C.G. Jung as the collective unconscious.

The legend of the hen that laid the golden eggs, also associated with some of Asturias' oldest heritage sites, such as its magnificent pre-Romanesque churches—for example, Santa Cristina de Lena—or the unsettling presence of the 'mouros,' powerful beings said to inhabit the subsoil beneath the hill forts, are just some of the curiosities that make a visit to this charismatic place a truly fantastic adventure.
