In Puerto Lápice, it is supposed that it was where Miguel de Cervantes placed the first episode of the adventures of his immortal knight, Don Quixote de la Mancha and it is very possible that the inn that bears his name, was the one where he also began his eternal runs through the picturesque and varied geography of a Peninsula, through the blood of whose children runs, like the different kinds of vines, blood of a thousand different peoples.
It is difficult for the traveller who leaves the capital to go towards those mysterious Andalusian mountain ranges to pass by and not stop at this place, which still preserves the typical constitution of the old inn and inn of the roads, which so many stories suggested to men of letters with more category than me.
The Inn of Don Quixote, then, located in the heart of Puerto Lápice, opposite a church that still conserves some elements of its ancient Romanesque-Mudejar constitution, is a place for meeting and also for remembering, where you can stop along the way and let yourself be dreamed of by the exploits and situations of a time, which may not have been better, but which had the charm of adventure and romanticism.
