I would love to continue the story of our journey here at Bagatayam, Sogod. I was enticed to tell you how enchanting we've been. I taught in Sogod for a year earlier than Deped. However, I didn't reach this part because I was too focused on my teaching journey and have been busy applying for the government. But I can insert a little time for this, yet none of my colleagues or friends invited me. Not until Mam Smile brought me here.
Can I call this "healing my inner child" already? I've been doing these things in my 30s and I feel like I gave justice to my younger me. I've wandered a lot and felt so rewarding. Big hugs to a younger me🥹🤗
Speaking of healing, a certain spring gave life to locals which was this Binaliw Spring. So come and let's discover the serene nature of spring.
BINALIW SPRING
This spring believe that it has a healing power for those who have hidden illnesses and those who want to heal from the ill. It has a grotto on the site and is believed to be a miraculous one. It is the Our Lady of Lourdes. For people who are seeking a tourist attraction or looking for an enchanting spot, then it's one of your choices.
The spring gave life to the river of Bagatayam which ends at Bagatayam waterfall. Visitors are enticed to swim in a clear natural pool. Before, a strong surge of water could even reverse its flow and it was a rare stroke of the water that's why they called it binaliw meaning "something unusual or insane". Now, it's calm and still clear.
It has a bridge to cater to people crossing the river. The spring is surrounded by mango trees and a chapel. This place has a wide ground where visitors can camp however after an incident happened, they didn't allow people to camp anymore. The chapel has strict maintenance. When we entered the restricted place, I doubted if he was angry. When Mam Smile approached him, he kept calm when we finally said our purpose. It is still restricted yet people can come as long as you're quiet and respecting the place too.
Mr. Sun showed up! And it's still early to go home so we continued for a hike.
Mam Smile took the lead as I always walked after her. She's been here many times so there's nothing to worry about. You know what? I thought it would be boring if you're only two walking in nature yet we're always laughing with something in common or agreeing with one another.
It is connected to Binaliw River but it's still drought. It would be wonderful to see water in it soon. Stacking stones are waiting for the water to come.
The calming green leaves, big trees, and soothing air are a great combo with nature. Peace and serenity!
More hike! The more we indulge in nature, the more younger get to be. Yes, it's true! We have to move every day at least walking. Burning the fats we eat every day releases toxins in our bodies. Such a great work!
See? Who knows two can't have fun? And can take a photo with a timer? Haha anyway, we have so many pictures in my gallery but I'd rather pick one. Haha. This is the only "decent" picture I took from a timer, and the rest, you know already.😂
