Today we look at the Klabava reservoir. We find it near the village of the same name in the Rokycany region.
It is a dam used primarily to retain large waters, which are relatively common on the river Klabava.
We will see the massive overflows, the shaft building of the power plant and walk along the body of the dam to the village of Klabava.
We will start our trip at the railway station in Pilsen - Doubravka. We will take a passenger train for 10 minutes in the direction of Prague and get off at the Klabava stop.
Here we can visit a small ruin of a castle called the Old Castle, we find it near the railway line, which disturbed the fort.
Today, however, we will go down the road down the hill and in front of the village we will turn right onto a dirt road.
Not far from the road on the right is the old mining work of Kristiánie. But we'll keep that for another time. We continue on the way to a slight hill and in a few minutes we can see the white line of the concrete wall of the dam on the horizont.
Let's get closer. Massive overflows appear before our eyes. The whole dam underwent a complete reconstruction a few years ago.
There is a path for pedestrians and cyclists on the body of the dam. We'll walk after her.
These are pieces! Proper closures regulating the water level at high water.
The level in the dam is significantly reduced. It's dry. The photo also shows a shaft object.
In the distance, on a wooded hill, Vršíček - a pilgrimage church - follows us in the distance.
After crossing the dam, we find ourselves in the village of Klabava. At the former school we find this memorial plaque of the famous local native.
In the village we find a small chapel combined with a fire station. In its church part there are statues of Jesus.
And the Virgin Mary with Jesus.
Behind the chapel we can also find the inn U komína. They have a good chimney here. It is a remnant of an old ironworks.
We bypass the World War II memorial and find ourselves at the end of the village.
The train will go home in a moment…
