Here in Venezuela, we're approaching the two-month mark since the double earthquake of June 24th, and as I've written in previous posts, it's been very difficult to return to a sense of calm. To begin with, last night I experienced an aftershock that kept me awake, and to my surprise, other places around the world, like Granada in Spain, were also experiencing strong tremors. I've had this city on my mind for several days now, so I want to relive the best of this city and this trip that allowed me to discover the most beautiful parts of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia (in my opinion). During our musical tour of Spain, the city of Granada was one of the most important places. We had three concerts there and, in fact, we spent three full days, so it was one of the places I got to see the most, although I always regret not going inside the Cathedral, and I only took this photograph from the outside:

Aquí en Venezuela nos acercamos a cumplir dos meses del doblete sísmico del 24 de Junio, y como he escrito en post anteriores, ha sido muy complicado volver a estar tranquilos. Para comenzar, anoche viví una réplica que no me dejó volver a dormir, y para mí sorpresa, en otros lugares del mundo, como Granada en España también se estaba sacudiendo con fuerza. He tenido esta ciudad en mi mente desde hace varios días, así que quiero revivir lo mejor de esta ciudad y de este viaje que me hizo conocer lo más bonito de la Comunidad Autónoma de Andalucía (en mi opinión). Durante nuestra gira musical por España, la ciudad de Granada fue uno de los lugares más importantes. Aquí tuvimos tres presentaciones musicales y de hecho estuvimos tres días completos, así que fue uno d elos lugares que más pude conocer, aunque siempre me arrepiento de no haber entrado a la Catedral, y solo tomé esta fotografía desde afuera:

During this concert tour, I visited several Spanish cities, most of which had a very cold and dry climate, especially in the north of the country. Although I explored some areas in the south, Granada surprised me with its resemblance to Caracas, the city where I live, mainly in terms of climate and some of its architecture. Walking through these streets is truly magical. In Granada, you encounter numerous works of art in the streets, and the imposing Sierra Nevada mountain range is always visible in the background—another place I regret not having visited sooner. However, just three days with three concerts wasn't enough to discover so many wonders, so in addition to the city center, we focused on the Alhambra, which was actually one of the venues where we performed.

Durante esta gira de concierto conocí varias ciudades españoles, y la mayoría de ellas tenían un clima muy frío y seco, especialmente en el norte del país, pero aunque conocí algunas zonas del sur, Grada me sorprendió con lo parecido que era a Caracas, la ciudad donde vivo, y me refiero más que todo al clima y algo de su arquitectura. Caminar por estas calles es realmente mágico, en Granada te encuentras con muchas obras de arte en la calle y siempre se ve al fondo la imponente montaña Sierra Nevada, otro lugar del cual me arrepiento de no haber ido en su momento, sin embargo, solo estar tres días con tres funciones musicales no era suficiente para descubrir tantas maravillas, así que además del centro de la ciudad, nos enfocamos en La Alhambra, que de hecho fue uno de los lugares donde hicimos música.

I think one of the best experiences of my life was seeing the Alhambra at night. It truly is a magical place, full of mysticism. In fact, I already wrote a post about my experience in that historic site high above Granada. Walking around the Alhambra was very cool, and when we arrived in the city center, the temperature was more pleasant and Mediterranean. I think Granada has it all: elegance, warmth, snow, art, and many places to discover. It's a perfect place to travel and spend a pleasant time, and that's how I experienced it and how I remember it. I sincerely hope that the seismic swarm affecting the city stops soon and doesn't escalate, as I've promised myself I'll return to southern Spain and, in fact, reunite with so many dear friends there. Creo que una de las mejores experiencias de mi vida fue conocer La Alhambra de noche, y es que realmente es un lugar mágico y lleno de mucho misticismo, de hecho ya escribí un post sobre mi experiencia en ese lugar histórico en las alturas de Granada. Caminar en las afueras de la Alhambra era muy fresco, y cuando llegamos al centro de la ciudad había una temperatura más agradable y mediterránea. Creo que Granada lo tiene todo, elegancia, calor, nieve, arte y muchos lugares por descubrir, es un lugar perfecto para viajar y pasar una temporada agradable, y así la conocí y así la recuerdo. Espero de todo corazón que enjambre sísmico que ataca la ciudad cese pronto y que no llegue a mayores, ya que tengo una promesa conmigo mismo de volver a visitar el sur de España y de hecho reencontrarme con tanta gente querida allá.
