A very special greeting to everyone in the Worldmappin community! Today I want to share a little more about my experience in El Retiro Park in Madrid, a place I loved during my trip to Spain two years ago. I had already shared a post about it here on Hive, but I took so many photos that afternoon that I had been meaning to write a second post. I only remembered that promise to myself when I saw images of the park in a TV series I'm watching right now. I'll start with this photo of the Crystal Palace in the distance, because it was the structure that impressed me the most during that visit.

Statue Walk:

As you can see in these photographs, this park in the heart of Madrid stands out not only as a great green space and greenery in the middle of the city, but also for its architectural features and especially for the art, which can be seen in every corner. The Paseo de las Estatuas, also known as the Paseo de la Argentina, is very impressive, with elegant shrubs pruned into geometric shapes that, at first glance, resembled a small labyrinth. Walking along it is a pleasure to appreciate the art of sculptures in white, which I love so much. It's been a while, and I don't remember the exact number of statues, but believe me, there are at least a dozen, and for those of us who love this art form, it's a perfect stroll.

Forest of Remembrance:

Everyone talks about the Great Pond in El Retiro Park and the Crystal Palace Pond, and rightly so; both places are amazing. At the former, you can even take small boat rides, making the experience even more special. But closer to the Forest of Memories, there's a small lake shaded by trees where ducks swim happily. I found that spot even more special, perhaps because there aren't as many people trying to get the perfect picture. In fact, that whole section of the park leading to the exit onto Alfonso XII Street is wonderful, much calmer than the more popular areas. It's here that I recommend sitting down and resting for a while, as the park is so large that you can easily tire of walking.

For someone like me who doesn't experience all four seasons, places like this feel special, inviting me to return each time and relive the experience, whether with the colors of autumn or the white that graces some winter days. I went in spring, and everything looked absolutely beautiful. Perhaps today's photos don't show as many flowers because I've already shared those here on Hive, but believe me, there were flowers everywhere, in every corner of the park. As always, even though I was only there for about three hours, it wasn't enough time to appreciate everything El Retiro Park has to offer, especially since it was incredibly cold. It was early spring, but it still felt somewhat wintry.

Regarding El Retiro Park, the only place I regret not going inside was the Crystal Palace. Its architecture impressed me, and I think I could have taken some really special photos there, although being made of glass, I think I saw a lot of the interior from the outside 😅. Even so, it attracts a lot of tourists, and I only had a short time, so you should be prepared if you only have one day to visit. I hope you enjoyed these pictures and this second post about El Retiro Park in Madrid, a must-see if you visit the city, especially for the opportunity to connect with nature amidst so many wonders of Spanish architecture. I wish you all a wonderful day, and until the next post!...
