He's a Chinese God, but he's not so cool after wine. I'm glad to see my favorite mini-market was still open. Even the owner thought this was a funny shot.
I truly believe that most of these junk food companies will go bankrupt and this post will outlive them all on the blockchain. When that day comes will we replicate the junk food of the past just to show our great grandkids the shit we used to eat?
When I went to take this shot, a young monk rushed to switch the light off. At first, I thought he didn't want me to take pictures, but he was just being polite so I could get this nice shot without the light pollution.
This $60 pocket projector I bought at Walmart over two years ago serves as a great TV and light for my bike.
This restaurant has some pretty bright lights, but you can still see the projector. It can last about two movies on battery power.
It can project the movie to the entire wall if it's far enough away. It doesn't have the best brightness or clarity, but it serves as a bicycle light like a champion.
Does anybody know what kind of car this is? I've seen it many times, but never the owner. It would be cool to be cruising around in this beast, but...
This is how I roll. I like BMX because you never have to worry about gears. Ever since I saw E.T. and Elliot escape on one, I wanted to ride.
This is at the tip of the peninsula and the main street of town.
They don't have cooperate shops here, just mom and pop. It can be hard to find anything open after ten.
There will be at least one street food vendor open somewhere, you just have to find it.
If you have a western card and come to Laos, I recommend BCEL bank. The transaction will go through and they won't charge you as much as the other banks.
You can get around with one of these guys, but they'll charge you about five dollars to go anywhere. It doesn't matter if it's one hundred meters or four kilometers. If you're a guy they'll try to sell you all kinds of shady things.
This is were the night market used to be. It's now this food court.
Here's the food court. Most of the food is good and cheap. You can also enjoy a midnight beer.
I was craving an ice cream, but beer was cheaper.
The dark beer here is my favorite. If you come here, you got to try it.
Why are hamburgers never quite right overseas? They're still good, but not the same.
This isn't the main street, but it's the best street. There's always something going on down this smooth well lit road.
I was still hungry and was doing this post, so I kept going. I saw this sign in the darkness and decided to have another meal.
These little plastic sacks are ice cream that cost about ten cents. The restaurant gave me the water complementary.
I don't know why I'll eat chicken and pork, but feel bad eating duck. This was mostly a duck restaurant, so I went with this. It wasn't the best, but for two dollars at midnight, I can't complain.
Let's be really bad and take one of these bags home.
Thanks for having a midnight snack or snacks with me. Have a nice day.
