Bamboo is one of the most popular restaurants here in Luang Prabang because it's in the heart of town, has great food, and the price is low. I come here often. Let me show you why...

They are by the main intersection with the gas station. You might miss the sign passing by, but they usually have plenty of bikes out front. I didn't come here for the first two years because I always saw many foreigners and I assumed it would be expensive, but I was wrong. Most meals on the menu are about two bucks.

You can see the famous temple across the intersection. I asked the waitress what was special about this spaghetti and she said that is how they do it here. It was different than what you'd find in an Italian restaurant, but it was still really good. You know what else is different here? Coke and Pepsi. They use real sugar and not the disgusting fake sweetener they use elsewhere. Once you get used to the taste of real sugar sodas, it's hard to drink the fake ones.

I try not to come here everyday because that's boring, but I come here a lot. Here are some other great dishes I've ordered here in the past month. There's nothing special about the sandwiches, but for two dollars, I can't complain.

It's great eating organic. I just thought it was for hippies trying to look cool when I was younger, but I see why it's good now.

Can you handle it hot? My ex-wife is from Thailand and she'd cook my food as spicy as possible when she was upset with me which was often. After two decades I'm proud to say I can eat as spicy as the locals can now.

Thanks for exploring this gem of Asia with me again today. Have a wonderful day!
