Wednesday walk along the river to the old brewery

It's Wednesday so let's go for a walk together. I recently visited a small town in Serbia, Pancevo. This town is located at the confluence of the two rivers Tamis and Danube.

It was a very cold day, but we wanted to have lunch somewhere outside the city, so we headed to Pancevo, located near Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.

When we went down to the river, to walk along the quay, it was so peaceful that I had the impression that no one lives in the town.

Nobody but the beautiful swans. It was soothing to watch them.

This was the first time we had walked along the River Tamis. I like to discover new spots and watch something different from the usual. And compared to my busy and noisy city, this place was completely different.

We walked along the quay in silence and used that time to sort out our thoughts and make plans. Sometimes it's good to make plans because they guide you in the right direction if you find yourself lost somewhere along the way. But I prefer to make small plans because life is uncertain. I was happy for that moment in which I am alive and walking by the river with someone I love. I didn't need big plans.

And the famous Weifert family had big plans for the old brewery, which was founded at the beginning of the 18th century in this town, by the river. It was the oldest brewery in the Balkans and known for its success and quality beer. Now there are no more plans because it is abandoned.

It was fascinating to see such an old building.

But sad at the same time. However, there is one part of the brewery that has been preserved and has a purpose today. It is a restaurant called the Old brewery where we went for lunch.

We ate smoked pork meat, a specialty recommended by the hosts.

I walked a bit inside to see the interior of the former old brewery.

We had a great time there and stayed until the evening.

I love when I discover something new during the Wednesday Walk. We went home with interesting impressions.
