Hello everyone. As I mentioned in the previous post, I spent last week in Poreč, a beautiful, picturesque town in Istria, Croatia.
My vacation in Poreč turned into an amazing experience when I stepped on the streets of the town for the first time.
I love Croatia very much because of the beautiful old towns that delight me again and again and bring me back to some old days as well as when I was a child.
Although I have visited many cities in Croatia, I have never been to Poreč before. I fell in love with this town at first sight because it is impossible not to love it and feel its soul. It is a charming town that makes you feel wonderful and relaxed.
As you walk through the streets of the old town, you experience a real fairy tale. I didn't know where to look first because all around there is the beauty of old buildings from different historical periods that make you feel like you are traveling through time.
Poreč is a lively city and I could conclude that it is very popular due to a large number of tourists. There are big crowds on the streets and that bothered me when I was taking photos. I want to come here again in the winter when there are no crowds.
The historic center of Porec has been preserved to this day. I have always been fascinated by towers in old towns, and in Poreč I saw two magnificent towers that I will write about in one of the next posts. It is amazing how old and beautiful this town is. We saw a Romanesque house with a wooden balcony and with a gift shop and gallery on the ground floor.
I was also delighted with the Gothic house. It was the most luxurious Gothic palace that was built at that time. It is written on the facade that it is from 1473. Unfortunately, it was not possible to see the interior.
The Freedom Square and the Church of Our Lady of the Angels are located near the old town. There was a very nice atmosphere in that square because of the music of the street musicians.
My son also enjoyed walking through Poreč streets with me. 🙂
He saw that some children were selling shells and immediately stopped to buy one.
He also stopped to buy mini donuts, which are called "fritule" here. They were delicious and we enjoyed their taste while we were walking.
Interesting and creative street decorations and souvenir shops can be seen all around.
I saw a lot of galleries with beautiful pictures. The city has an artistic spirit.
After walking around the old town, we usually return to the promenade by the sea and enjoy the beautiful views.
I hope you enjoyed this walk with me. Thank you very much for reading.
The images and writing are original and mine.
Greetings!
Jelena
