Hello everyone. This Wednesday I was happy to have the chance to create content for the #wednesdaywalk challenge, hosted by @tattoodjay, on Tara mountain. Walking there is always special for me and makes my life more beautiful.
The day began with a leisurely walk along the "path of love", located near the hotel where I was staying. In a fragrant pine forest where you hear only silence and your thoughts, your steps are light and it seems you could walk forever. Thin air does not make you tired and you feel strong and full of energy.
I like to come here every time I need a break from work and busy city life.
When I am here, there is only the present moment. Overwhelming thoughts are somewhere far away. There is only oneness with nature, which is one of the most pleasant feelings I have felt.
The path of love is known for the bridges that symbolize the entire cycle that couples go through on their path of love. There are six bridges and each one has its own name. Bridge of friendship, bridge of love, bridge of marriage, bridge of newlyweds, bridge of sighs and bridge of divorce. The last bridge has been broken, which probably means that divorce is not always the best option. 😊
A mountain stream flows along the entire path. At one point I thought I saw a huge fat snake, but it was just a tree. 😊
I stopped by the wildflowers that looked so beautiful in the middle of January and just before it started snowing.
After the path of love, I followed the bear's trail to beautiful forest landscapes. It started snowing and I was happy because my son was eagerly waiting for the snow.
Tara is the habitat of brown bears in Serbia. When I saw the warning sign that I hike at my own risk, I changed my direction because I'm not brave enough to meet a bear, although it would be a unique experience. And probably unrepeatable. 😊
Near the forest, the path led me to an incredibly peaceful place. It was a Monastery of Serbian saints.
Although I am not very religious, I felt peace in this place as soon as I entered through the door and wanted to spend some time there.
This holy place is also the home of the monks of the monastery.
There are benches in front, you can stay as long as you want. You feel relieved, which I really liked.
There was a large Christmas tree in front of the church door because Orthodox Christmas was a few days ago and every home has a Christmas tree like this during the holiday.
My walk continued up the stairs that led to the church.
This place is really special and gives peace even if you are not religious.
I felt good after this visit and that's how this Wednesday walk ended, with inner peace and positive thoughts.
Thank you very much for reading.
The images and writing are original and mine.
Greetings!
Jelena
