THE REPELS & OBSTACLES

Not too bad of a canyon. The repels were all pretty typical, there were only a couple of places where you needed to walk or wade through water. And of course the repel at the end down into the narrows is slippery but epic. Sadly no one was in the narrows that late to see our grand decent.

The approach was probably the most difficult thing about the canyon. Specially with how much snow there was.

This is one of the longer repels and it has a little bit of trickiness if you want to avoid the water at the bottom.

THE APPROACH

The approach is different if you can shuttle and park a car at the top and a car at the bottom. We did the top which required a whole lot less uphill climbing but did require us to get a truck unstuck from the mud because it was so early in the season the road was just a muddy mess toward the end.

As you can see it was also a muddy hike.

And a super sketchy downhill climb in the snow of mid-march.

THE SCENERY

These are the kinds of views you'll expect to see doing this hike. Lots of slot canyons and if you don't have a ton of time it's probably not worth bringing a tripod because it's just too long of a canyon to really have time to take too many shots. I myself would forgo the tripod next time.

THE FRIENDS

I only go canyoneering where there are people that are more than experienced and I can really really trust. Why put my life in the hands of someone who is just decently competent. And luke is one of those people I trust.

We had ourselves a decent little crew of 6 but ran into some friends from SLC along the way so we teamed up.

Who is that majestic creature helping carry bags across the cold section of water.
Yes it was cold enough to warrent getting a dry suit... but barely I probably would do a wet-suit next time. March isn't that cold and I was only in water maybe a couple times and just up to my waste at most.
