Heyaah Hivers, How are you? I hope you're doing great. For today's #LakwatsaniIntoy Diary (MyTravelstory). I will share with you an unexpected view I discovered in Compotela, Cebu, Philippines.
Last February 8, 20224, when I was still working in one of our Cebu projects, my other colleagues and I had lunch out in the proper area of Compotela Cebu. That day, we had a visitor from our main office who did some auditing and monitored our site project status.
After the walkthrough, the team decided to eat outside in the newly opened restaurant in Compostela called Lantaw. Yes, practically, this is a restaurant, but this time, I will highlight the place that will entice you to visit and have fine dining in this restaurant that offers not only delightful food but also a stunning beach view.
Lantaw Restaurant is a local Cebuano restaurant that offers Filipino dishes. Currently, they have 3 branches in Cebu, and one of those is the one we will visit today.
Unique Design
It was already 12:00 noon when we arrived at the restaurant. a lot customers were already in that place eating, so we were glad they have more seats and tables that could accommodate us. The parking area is also wide enough to park our service vehicle.
When you enter, you'll observe the unique bamboo wood design of the restaurant, from the ceiling, tables and chairs, and other parts of the structure. the design is light and feels homey. Its cozy place in general.
Surprising View
Aside from the unique design, one thing that will capture your attention when entering the restaurant is the stunning beach view in front of the sea. This restaurant is built on the coastline of Compostela, They created a boardwalk along the coastline where customers can roam around and experience dining by the beach.
The area highlights the horizon and crystal clear ocean of Compostela Cebu. This view actually is not noticed when you just passing by in the restaurant. You will find it when you enter and explore the boardwalk area. That's why we were surprised that they have a hidden stunning beach view like this inside.
Everyone was in awe of what we saw when we entered the restaurant. It has coconut palm trees on the boardwalk, which adds to the tropical vibe of the area. I think they just transplanted these trees.
When we are seated and waiting for our orders, I can't help myself from exploring it. From the boardwalk, you can witness this stunning view. I also went up to the second floor, where you can find more seats and tables. In this area, you will have an overlooking view of the ocean. Timing theirs no costumer in the second floor, all area was mine and ofcourse I capture more photos for you to see what I find out.
Im all smiles, actually. While I'm taking those photos, you will feel the breeze of the ocean and hear the sound of the waves while you are in this area of the restaurant. The view is very captivating; you will find it peaceful and relaxing. It feels like you're having a beach vacation in a luxurious resort. Look how beautiful the view is; it is stunning, right?
Sumptuous Foods
I go back in our table after roaming around. A few minutes later, our food are ready to serve. We ordered Shrimp in ginger broth, Fried Chicken, Sauteed noodles, pork sisig, and Vegetable. For our drinks, we ordered an orange juice to ease the heat in the area. As expected, the foods are worth trying, I love their Pork sisig and the shrimp broth the most.
We enjoy eating our food while having a nice view of the ocean in front of us. After we eat, we stay a few minutes on the boardwalk and appreciate the beauty of nature in front of us. Our tummies were full and our eyes as well.
This place is perfect for family and friends who are looking for a fine dining place with stunning views around Compostela, Cebu. From the food, from the ambience and the beach view, for sure your loveones love to have a dinning in this place.
I love how they developed this place and made a restaurant a place not just to eat but to enjoy scenic views as well like this.
How to reach Lantaw Compostela?
If you want to visit Lantaw Compostela and want to have a dining experience like this. You can ride a bus in the Cebu north bus terminal going to the northern area of Cebu, Compostela is just fourth municipality from Cebu City it will only take you an hour of travel to reach your destination. The bus fare is only 50 pesos. If you want a cheaper ride, you can ride Jeepney in SM Cebu, it will only cost you 30 Pesos a fair.
Just inform the driver to drop in Lantaw Compostela. The restaurant is just along the road, so don't worry, you will find it easily.
