Hello travelers! How are you?
This time I remembered to share with you the beautiful ride I took this Sunday, mainly because with a clear mind, I can narrate my wonderful experience through the photos I captured, which was to start from the stunning Lake Caldonazzo in Trentino and reach the lake that I adore the most, Lake Garda.
It was indeed an adventurous Sunday. I had arrived at Caldonazzo the day before by train, accompanied by my trusty bicycle, which is arguably the fastest mode of transportation to reach this famous destination in Trentino.
I was hosted by friends who practically have a second home or rather a vacation home on Lake Caldonazzo, and together, we wanted to attempt this bike ride starting from this lake to reach the town of Torbole, located on the northern part of Lake Garda. We aimed to make the most of the numerous cycle paths available in Trentino.
We set off early in the morning, knowing that bad weather was forecasted for the afternoon with possible rainstorms. However, we hoped the weather forecast would be wrong. We started in the cool morning air, as you can see from the initial photos I took. After covering several kilometers, mostly downhill, taking advantage of the beautiful cycle path that connects Lake Caldonazzo with Trento, we arrived in this beautiful city.
Unfortunately, the city center was crowded, so we didn't linger much. Also, being June 2nd, the Italian Republic Day, there were events and celebrations in the historic center. We managed to bypass the historic center on foot, but I still managed to take a few minutes to admire the beautiful castle of Trento, which is definitely worth visiting if you happen to be in the area.
After grabbing a croissant and a coffee on the go, we set off again. Unfortunately, this time we had to take a detour because the current cycle path leading towards Lake Garda was interrupted due to landslides. Fortunately, after several kilometers, we found another path.
Here begins the most adventurous part of the biking experience, and luckily, I was well-equipped. Unfortunately, in this last stretch of road, we encountered so much rain that even though I had a rain jacket protecting me, water seeped in everywhere. But this is the risk of biking, and I must say, it was still a great adventure, although I feel much better now that I'm dry.
We encountered a nasty thunderstorm, but fortunately, it passed quickly, only slightly slowing us down. Then, fortunately, in the evening, we arrived in Torbole, where we had booked a hotel and were able to enjoy a lovely hot shower.
Predicting the weather is always tricky, but I think we did quite well. This, for me, was also a beautiful experience. Sometimes, the tough times come just when you're struggling the most, but the goal of reaching the destination is what drives you forward.
I hope you enjoyed the photos and my story that I shared. See you on my next biking adventure!
