Hello Travelers and Steemians π
This month I have ended with spending the last two days at Shirdi, Maharashtra, India. Shirdi is a holy place for South Indians where Guru Sai Baba lived his life throughout here guiding the lives of people in their spiritual journey and this materialistic world.
I have started my journey from Secunderabad on 27-02-2020 night through train and reached shirdi around 9 am.
Here there is an trust setup by Telugu people called as Hema sai ram or cycle Swamy where they provide accommodation specially for Telugu people. This is the best thing for people coming for Andhra or Telangana because along with the Ac/non-AC rooms they provide free lunch & dinner with authentic telugu cuisine.
I have checked in here with my family and done lunch immediately. We heard from fellow devotees that it taking only less than hour for Darshanam ( visit to see the lord) . So decided to go for it before it gets filled with hundreds of people.
The temple is just 0.5 km from our hotel, so just gone there by walking.
As mentioned in my previous travel post of tirupathi, here too mobiles are not allowed to inside of the temple. The temple administration set up an counter to store the personal belongings & mobiles for free.
We got in to line and it took around 45 minutes for the darshan. It's really memorable moments to see the lord and expressing my gratitude for all the things I got. We got opportunity to spend around 4-6 minutes Infront the Samadhi.
We came out of the temple and still continue to in line and took the Prasad and viboothi offered by the temple trust.
So it's around evening 4 , still roamed around the temple premises to see the museum, Been tree where Baba used to sit in evenings.
The museum is filled with all the articles, dresses used by Baba in his time. There were also paintings illustrated incidents / miracles by Baba.
We did a shopping for around one hour and purchased some books & Baba statue requested by my friend.
We became soo tired and unable to spend more time, so booked a cab to accomodation to have dinner.
The streets of shirdi filled with hundreds of people chanting the name of Sai. Every where you see the books of life history of sai in different languages, portraits and statues.
I suggest you to bargain much whatever you want to buy because the sellers here always quote huge prices than what it actually costs.
**The temple trust already running different counters to sell different items related to perform prayers or holy offerings. So it's better to purchase from them than outside shops. **
I have visited next day to some other places which have good prominence in Hinduism. Will write it in next post.
