Hello, friends and hive travelers greetings
A tour of Dønna Island In north Norway.
We started this summer tour to Sandessjøen by car but the ferry is essential while driving a car to get to the nearby islands. once on one of the main islands there are bridges connecting to a number of smaller islands.
after crossing by ferry we started our island tour by car.
The Dønnamannen Mountain, was named because it looks like a man's face and from the right position thr whole man lying down
Little closer view of Dønnamannen.
in the other direction to the mainland is the range of seven mountains called syv søstre. Seven sisters.
We stopped the car on this spot to enjoy the view.
There was only one house located all alone in that area.
Far away from the other islands, The mountain looked like an iceberg.
one lady lives in these isolated houses by the sea. one of the houses is for her animals and ducks. she sells the animals for a living but I wonder how she manages when there is all snow and ice. in the winter.
Keeping that question in mind I concentrate on the road ahead.
Here it looks like there is some life here some houses but no people.
These types of bridges connect the islands.
Another stop on the next town/island
After this place, we drive to another main island called Herøy where we shall catch another ferry back to the mainland
One tourist point where people can rent different kinds of boats for sea tours.
The hotel.
Norwegians carry their food during travels. Along the way, there are rest stops with picnic tables and benches to eat, relax, and enjoy the view and fresh sea air. After food, the place has to be cleaned and all trash has to be removed.
We took a little walk around where we stopped by the water and noticed different types of seaweed piles and piles on the beach.
After came back from this trip we were invited for the typical Norwegian dinner reker smør brød the cooked shrimp with bread sandwich.
The beautiful nature and kind people in North Norway are a very special experience for me. I say thanks to them for their kind hospitality and thanks to you for reading my post. this is my original content.
