I was on the beautiful island of Menorca for 15 days in July 2019, I had already been here 15 years and before and I must say that the island has changed very little from a landscape point of view, the big difference is that tourism in the last years has increased a lot and the crowding of the beaches is truly remarkable.
In this blog I want to take you to what are, for me, the most beautiful beaches on the island.

  1. Playas de Cavalleria

We are in the northern part of the island, you get to the beach from a promontory that opens with a magnificent view of the beach below, the panorama is truly impressive. The sand is reddish in color and the contrast with the blue of the sea is beautiful. Here there are hardly many people because the beach is located off the beaten track of tourism.

  2. Cala en Turqueta

We move to the south of the island, the name says it all, here the show is the turquoise color of the water, the sand is white and it looks like talcum powder, many say it seems to be in the Caribbean!

The beach is often crowded, the beach parking lot is small and you have to get there in the early hours of the morning because when the traffic is full it is blocked and the beach becomes accessible only with the bus that leaves from Cittadella.
  3. Macarelleta

We are always in the southern part of Menorca, here nature has made a masterpiece, the small beach of Macarelleta is nestled between two promontories and its waters are crystal clear.
We arrived here in the morning at 7, the beach was deserted and the light of dawn made it magical to say the least!
From 9 in the morning the beach became unlivable for the number of people out of proportion to the size of the place.
If you decide to come here do it in the early hours of the day !!
