On Sunday we were invited to join the Australia Bush Fire Fundraiser sausage sizzler and charity auction at Aesop's Bangkok a Greek restaurant that is run by a friend of my called John , John himself is from Australia so he was quite pleased to do this for his people and the wild life back home , he has been open now nearly 2 years in Bangkok city and has become quite well know for his hospitality and party functions he holds at his restaurant.
As most of the world now would be aware of this disastrous devastation that is taking place in my home country of Australia since early October the bush fires started in the Gold Coast of Brisbane and have now spread around most of Australia and are still raging out of control around the country still causing suffering and destruction to the people and wildlife.
I got to the venue a little early to see if John might have needed a hand with anything but he had everything under control he was just a bit concerned about the number of people turning up and not enough food but it all when well and it gave me the opportunity to take some photos before it got to packed out.
It was coming together with a good start the people were rolling in with a hungry looks on there faces as if they had been hanging out for this BBQ and the sausages where far from ready but with a few drinks and a bit of chit-chat at the bar we could soon smell them sausages been just about ready.
And those yummy Sloane's sausages and chips were soon on our table and talking about taste in a sausage these were just amazing Sloane's is the company that supplied the sausages and one of the sponsors of the bush fire fundraiser.
We did go back for seconds and mostly everyone else did also not only because the sausages and the huge BBQ prawns were so tasty but because it was also generating more funds to donate.
It really was a great turn out everyone was doing there bit in supporting the fund raising and the best was yet to come , after everyone had full bellies we had the charity auction coming up and then the lucky draw tickets.
There was a couple of luxury rooms offered by Siam and Sofitel hotels to be auction and a few holiday packages very generous of them and all donation to go to the bush fire people and wildlife. The Australia Wildlife Foundation are saying that more then 500 million animals as in mammals, birds and reptiles this includes Koala bears and Kangaroos are feared to have died in the bush fires.
The lucky ticket draws that were sold consisted of prizes like wine and whiskey bottles donated but various other sponsors. As John had said 100% of all the money raised at this fundraiser would go to the Salvation Army Australia and the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital.
Thanks to everyone who was there it was a great response for Sunday's fundraiser and a Big thanks thanks to our amazing sponsors for helping us make it happen and also a BIG ..BIG Thanks for the Aerial tankers from the United States , Canada and New Zealand that have flown in to help battle these blazes and also the many volunteers from these countries who today are still battling these bush fires may God keep you all safe.
And thank you John and the team at Aesop's Bangkok and Sponsors for making this happen so successfully the Australia people and wildlife are forever very grateful to you all.
This image summarizes what is happening in Australia... "Animal's with too much Fear" 😭
