Sometimes you can only hear 'Can we go to Legoland, can we go to Legoland, can we go to Legoland' so many times before you relent, and book some tickets.

From where I live it's about a 90 minute drive, just outside of London, near to Windsor. It used to be the site of Windsor Safari Park, which I vaguely remember visiting as a kid, many moons ago...

I wasn't expecting too much, although to be fair, it was quite entertaining, even if some things didn't work properly or were broken. There's a number of rides that are suitable for adults, including a little roller coaster, theres a water rapids ride (fairly disappointing), an interactive Ninjago game (we queued for a while to get on, then my terminal didn't work so a little frustrating), a haunted house (it broke down when we were on it).

I probably enjoyed the model village most, I'm mostly sharing pictures of this here. Again some of it was a little tired, and could have done with a clean, but it was great to see the world in miniature.

What I really disliked was Q-Bot. If you haven't come across this before it's basically a queue jumping system for people with the ability to pay for the privilege. You have an app, or device and choose what ride you want to go on. You then get to enjoy yourself around the park until your allotted time, then go to the front of the queue. Everybody who's in the queue, waiting for maybe an hour, then watches you take your place at the front, making their queue longer.

We live in a society in which we have people who struggle and those who don't. Unfortunately this is replicated in Legoland, which removes a little of the joy for me.

Anyway, let's not get too dour! Here's a few shots of the world in miniature, lego style...
