I don't usually post about food and drink. But on this occasion I have succumbed, as the tale is more than just a single snap of a plate of food. I apologise up front to my Romanian friends, but your food is well.........

Welcome to Ribs and Beer

Tucked away down a side street not far from the main square, I found this little gem by accident.

With indoor and outdoor seating, I made my choice, why waste the warmth of the setting sun

There is also a micro brewery on site, and wow the draft craft lager beer has to be one of the finest I have ever supped, cold, crisp, clean. Not too dry like a lot of European lagers. God the first one barely touched the sides as I perused the menu.

Now having eaten bland (sorry) Romanian food for a couple of days (tasteless minced "meat" wrapped in boiled cabbage leaves, as an example 🤢, seriously salt and pepper are ok but where the fuck are the herbs and spices AND CHILLIES?), my taste buds were in dire need of reviving; serious reviving.

Mexican Ribs, chilli sauce, coleslaw, wedges, jalapeno, 2 dips. for the princely sum of RON 54.00,......£9.50p.

Worth every penny! Question why waste space on a serving plate, by going all cheffy and chucking in some yeuchy green stuff?

Time to go pee pee. Wanna join me?

The micro-brewery is underground for the most part, on the way to the toilets, and wow the toilets are something else too

Nice use of some old beer kegs in the gents; for fear of being arrested as a sex pervert and spending the next 5 years chained up in a dark dismal cell I did not venture into the ladies to check their facilities.

All in all a splendid evening spent on my own. Explaining to my fellow travellers the following day, a few were a tad envious, having "stuck with the group" and enjoyed more stuffed cabbage leaves at a traditional restaurant.

One life: Live it. Long live the fussy eater!
