Connewitz, is a place I really wanted to visit on my road trip; it is away from the touristic city centre, a good hour's walk.

I mean, hell who wants to ride a tram and miss all the good stuff on offer.

The Löffelfamilie, though technically not the usual stuff, it is still a beautiful sight to enjoy,

the last remnants of 1960's DDR neon advertising. It apparently is occasionally illuminated in the evening, alas I was there mid-afternoon.

Most of the big works are along Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse, one of the main roads to Connewitz.

It did include some rather crap, but strangely appealing tagging too.

The area of Connewitz has circa 18k "registered" inhabitants and is under going gentrification, which will, sadly, eventually clear the area of the many squatters and alternative lifestyle folk, forcing them back onto the streets, spreading them far and wide, and with them their artistic talents.

As it is in my nature to be rather nosey I wandered into one of the squats; although camera shy I found the inhabitants to be warm friendly and inquisitive, going about their business of fixing and making stuff. Whilst a few of them were to be found causally lying back enjoying an afternoon beer and a spliff. happy days.

I think this is the most amazing complex piece of art I have ever snapped, just a shame I couldn't isolate it further.

So the big stuff done, I will post the smaller stuff soon, along with the shed load of gorgeous stickers in C/Sticker Art.

cheers m'dears.
