In this post I would like to introduce you to Pieve di Cadore, the town that gave birth to Tiziano Vecellio, an artist who doesn't even need to be introduced because he was one of the most important painters of the entire Italian Renaissance.

Pieve di Cadore is practically a mountain town in the Veneto region and is located in the province of Belluno at about 800 meters above sea level and is located in the center of the Cadore Valley with a breathtaking view of the mountains that the artist remembers in many of his paintings since childhood.

Here you can find his birthplace which has now been transformed into a museum and a statue in memory of him has been erected in the town square.

When I was there, unfortunately, because covid is at my birth house it was closed but I could still read that it was built in 400 entirely in stone it was arranged on two floors with a wooden staircase and of course the furniture was very rustic typical of the time, unfortunately not many of his works remain in the city but only two because the others have been transferred to the most important museums in Italy

Of course, those who come to Pieve di Cadore come not only to visit Titian's birthplace but also to carry out physical activities such as long walks and in the winter, not far from Pieve di Cadore, there are beautiful facilities with more than 20 km of ski slopes. .

I have been there both in summer and in winter and I have always enjoyed doing a lot of trekking precisely because I am a lover of the mountains.
