Aside from durian, which unfortunately is out of season now, Aldevinco Shopping Center with its night market is a must visit for us whenever we are in Davao City.

Aldevinco is what I call a souvenir center of the city. Here they sell batiks in all forms. They have batik cloths, batik bags, batik wallets, and batik blouses and dresses.

We're here to buy something for our family back home who are not travelling with us. In Filipino, we call it "pasalubong," which literally means "something for you when you welcome me." And of course, to buy something for ourselves!

And as we were looking for stuffs, here is what we saw.

All kinds of batiks:

We bought a blouse for my mom. And I fitted it to make sure it would fit her. The last time we were here I bought her one of these, and she really, really liked it because its real cotton, that she requested for another one when she learned that we would travel to Davao. And I am ever willing to obliged cause I love this place. So we hunt for this. We went from one store to another to look for this. And viola we found one at a good price! I know mom would be happy for this!

Then we came across this shop with many necklaces and earrings. And because my sister is an "earrings addict," she fall into the trap at an instant! If I could remember it right, we consumed almost all of our time here. And we bought three pairs of earrings just from this shop. They have the nicest collection of earrings!

After which, as if not contented with three pairs, she still bought earrings from another shop. There they sell ethnic looking earrings, which can match basically any plain dress you wear!

We also bought this foldable mat, a traditional mat made from leaves. I believe these mats from Davao is made from buri leaves, a type of palm. We specially like this mat because it's easy to bring anywhere. When folded it looks like a bag with straps.

When we had everything for our family, we went outside of Aldevinco Building to the street market.

They sell all the street food I can think of. They have barbecue: chicken, pork, chicken intestines, gizzard, liver, hotdog, tuna head; drinks: milk shakes, fruit juices, softrinks; finger food: spring rolls, dumplings.

By then it's already dark and there's just so many people. Here, people are in traffic! So I stopped taking pictures, sorry.

Until we had some durian ice cream! Yes, you heard it right, a tasty, yummy durian ice cream!!!
