From my previous post you know that a storm stopped our little journey and we had to return to our camping base. It was a rough night full of thunder storms, torrential rain and the wind who was literally shaking our tent, but luckily in the morning the rain was more peaceful and we could get out of tent. 🌩️

Even if the storm stopped our trip on the Nera Gorges that doesn't mean we are giving up and returning to our homes. Just going to other place where the weather will be on our side and will let us discover other places. So the post of today is for you - Bottomless Pond(RO: Tăul Fără Fund)

The Bottomless Pond is located in Romania between Hațeg and Sarmizegetusa, a little city called Peșteana.📍
What's Bottomless Pond ❓
Sounds interesting, right? Well, The Bottomless Pond is a place which hides a lot of mysterious stories, being surrounded by flora and fauna specific to swamps but also carnivorous plants. There are rumors that the fresh green grass lured many domestic animals which ended being swallowed by the swamp.🐑
How long is the way to The Bottomless Pond? 🚶
After you arrive to Peșteana, there is an indicator that will lead you to The Bottomless Pond which is a 30-45mins-long-route on the hills until you arrive to a little bridge which brings you on the swamp. I haven't seen other swamps before but I had a feeling that this is not how they usually look like but anyway, that place is scary enough knowing that I could be swallowed by the soil in every moment.😨
What about carnivorous plants? 🥀
The carnivorous plants are not that creepy as I saw them in the movies - with big tentacles eating people, but just some tiny plants about some cm height feeding with the insects that are laying on them. 🐛
