One of our friends told us we shouldn't miss the United States Botanic Garden right below Capitol Hill because of their Christmas-themed model trains and the miniature Washington monuments, all made out of natural materials.
We loved seeing the trains and the monuments, which were actually very detailed and beautifully crafted. But we didn't stay long—it's a popular activity for families right before Christmas, and we felt out of place.
Maybe we'll come back after the holidays to take a look at the remaining exhibitions we didn't see.
