Caesar Creek State Park Hike and Pioneer Village in Ohio

November 2024 · 1 min read · Ohio

When we travel to Springfield, Ohio, we're always looking for cool things to do. On a recent weekend, when the warm fall weather was holding up nicely, we wanted to get outdoors. Mike discovered Caesar Creek State Park and it sounded exactly what we were looking for.

In this case, we were immediately sold ... not just because of the possibility for hiking, but the Pioneer Village with the historic houses appealed to us. Our visit was truly enjoyable, and we could return to continue exploring the trails - maybe even doing the complete loop around the lake.

But the absolute highlight of the day was this tiny little toad we saw right in the middle of our path!
