Automated People Mover - The Gold Line in Bangkok

February 2024 · 1 min read

The Gold Line automated people mover in Bangkok is the latest addition to our list of interesting transportation options we used. On this day, we had planned to visit the Iconsiam shopping mall, and I remembered that the Gold Line connects to it.

So we took a spontaneous ride on the automated people mover. The ride costs 15 baht, is currently 1.8 km long (although they're planning to extend it by another kilometer) and serves 3 stations.

As with all new forms of transportation, it was an exciting ride, we loved riding on the elevated terraces, but to be honest, the trains could go a little faster. That's why I sped up the video a bit :)
