Norway is known as the happiest country in the World as well as one of the most beautiful and expensive countries in the world. Perhaps due to the excellent healtcare, education and employment status.
In this blog, let me share to you our experience how we spent a day as a first time traveler in this city. I went with my husband and enjoyed the sightseeing attractions of buildings, architecture, park, food market and more.
To get there, we took a bus from the airport. According to AirportBus the average payment is around $8 to $ 12 one way.
Being in the small city can cover various eye-catching view on foot. A city located between mountains and fjords.
Here are the 4 Places We've Visited
1. BRYGGEN
- Heck! This area is colourful, surrounded with restaurants, sleek architecture buildings, shops, small museum, offices, etc. with a relaxing ambiance across the harbor.
This is Bergen's old Hanseatic that was built in 14th century by far and featured most of the iconic sight in the city. One of the great reason why this destination is declared as UNESCO World Heritage List.
2. FISH MARKET
- I was surprised and impressed by this busy area, the fish market compose of KING CRAB, it is my first time to see it and was shocked that it is extremely huge.
In addition, there are some food stalls around, varieties of goods, souvenirs, and one of the site you won't skip visiting! Grab a bite to eat as they sell more than just a fish, however, they
offer overpriced rate.
3. MAIN CITY PARK
- The stunning pergola made me smile, I feel like a princess staying in this park hahha surrounding with beautiful flowers, lovely and elegant. A touch of luxury to brag steping in this area :P
4. JOHANNESKIRKEN (St. JOHN'S CHURCH)
I've read in one of the reviews that it is the largest church of Bergen with a capacity of 1250 seats and built in the middle of 12th century. I can say that the design is really fabulous and awesome. One of the finest neo-Gothic churches in Norway.
The best experience I've learned so far when traveling is wandering and getting a feel for the place. As first time travelers we found it pretty expensive country that I've been in Europe, however, the trip is incredibly worth it, enjoy fresh air, the people are approachable and decent.
Norway is a country that you can escape with and have an amazing time there even with a totally empty itinerary. The nature, the sceneries, the safetiness of the city will leave you a mark that you will fall in love with.
We would definitely come back again hence this place have tons of beauty to offer, probably when Northern Lights or Aurora shows up and enjoy some winter sports.
