When you come to Portugal for holidays and decide to stay near the coast, or preferably near some fishing village, you will notice those little, colorful bots.
There is countless of them around here. Most will have single colour or just a stripe and they are of course still used for small fishing trips. Even though most of the time I just see them sitting stuck to the bottom.

But some, the bigger and fancier ones with a mas have some amazing patterns painted on! Now are those used for fishing too or just to show off? In some areas where the tourist like to show up they are used purely for tourism. This is a small town here where I live and I don't really see many foreigners. Not sure what they are sued here for besides that they look freaking awesome.

I always liked the boat bits. The rough materials and textures.

Like in any part of the world the tradition patterns and painting reflect the life of locals, the traditions and symbols. Besides the colorful flowers and shapes I saw one boat with a good looking bull. The bullfights are still happening in Portugal (not only Spain), but they are less popular than the olden days. And it was the only time I saw this boat parked at the shore. It was a really nice one.

Curiosity killed the cat?
I think this one knows exactly what is there and she wants it badly.
Plus of course another pretty boat with more regular paintings on though.

And then you look up and see this bay view and more regular/every day ones.
